Creamy Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2012
Great recipe! I made it exactly as the recipe says except I used xylitol instead of sugar (same amount). Topped it with cinnamon and tried not to eat ALL of it at once. So good and easy! I don't think I will need to try another rice pudding recipe; this one is the bee's knees.

One of THE best brownie recipes I've tried, and I've tried many.

Very good! I think next time I'll add more blackberries but otherwise perfect.

Chocolate Cheesecake II

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2009
Excellent except the topping didn't work very well, so the second time I made this I just left it off. It doesn't need it anyway, the cheesecake is great by itself!

Fruity Couscous Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2008
This is really delicious! I followed the advice of some of the other reviewers and reduced the cumin by half and used OJ instead of water. I think it might benefit from a little more moisture so maybe next time I'll add a little more liquid. Definitely will make it again though.

Whole Wheat Banana Nut Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2005
Yumminess! I love the dense, moist texture of this bread. It has just the right amount of sweetness and is also nutritious, so this recipe, which I followed exactly, definitely floats my boat.

Easy Chicken Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2005
I added some extra liquid and spices, but I think it needs even more. This is an okay recipe to work from, but nothing special.

Banana Bread I

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2005
YUM. I made these as muffins instead of bread. I added 1 t. cinnamon, 2 T. ground flax seed, and one extra banana and it turned out great! Not too dense, but dense enough. I'll definitely make this one again.

Blueberry Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2005
This sauce turned out quite well. It has good flavor and the consistency is just right; I didn't have to add any extra water at all. My only complaint is that it was a little too tangy for my taste. I like tangy fruit in my pies and cobblers, but I was using this on waffles and would have preferred a little less tartness. It certainly wasn't bad--just a personal preference. Also, next time I might lighten up on the almond extract. But if you make this exactly as the recipe says, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Honey Bun Cake I

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2005
Oh my gosh...this is a great recipe. I make it frequently for church potlucks (which we have every week, so I'd say I do this about once a month) because it's easy and SO good! It's devoured every time. You can't go wrong with this.

Nutty Crispy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2004
This has got to be the best sugar cookie recipe I've ever found. The cookies turn out beautiful and they aren't too dry or too moist. I omit the walnuts, but I'm sure they'd be great with those, or with pecans. If I had a list of top ten favorite cookie recipes, this would be on it.

Best Ever Blueberry Cobbler

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2004
This is absolutely wonderful! I pick fresh blueberries every year and of all the recipes I've tried, I think this is my favorite, and my husband agrees. The orange juice is a great touch. It adds a little subtle citrus flavor without overwhelming it at all, and I found the sweetness to be just right. Like some of the other reviewers, I added a little cinnamon to the topping. Unlike a few of them, I had no trouble with the dough being uncooked. I will definitely make this recipe over and over again.

Strawberry Fudge

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2004
Like the other reviewers, I found that this "fudge" didn't set well at all, even though I made sure it reached the temperature specified. I doubt if we're all that klutzy--the recipe must be off somewhere. My other complaint is that it looks disgusting. I was going to take it to a church potluck but even if it had set firmly enough, I wouldn't have, because the appearance is so bad that I don't think anyone would have tried it. That said, it tastes really good, so if you're just making it for yourself and you don't care what it looks like or feels like, go right ahead!
