About this Cook
I'm 29 years old, a stay at home mom to three little girls. I also have a small business selling gourmet marshmallows (check me out at softlysweetly.etsy.com). I love my jobs! And I love cooking great food for my family and friends.
My favorite things to cook
Desserts! I also love making things with lots of mushrooms and cheese. If only my husband liked mushrooms as much as I do!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Chicken and dumplings are one of my family's best loved meals. We have a great recipe that I've tried to write down for posterity, but it's just one of those things you have to fiddle with.
My cooking triumphs
I make good cheesecakes. :)
My cooking tragedies
Once I served undercooked chicken to some friends, Matt and Becca. Matt said, "I don't mean to be insulting but...I think maybe my chicken isn't cooked all the way." That was pretty embarrassing. My portion was cooked well but everyone else's was raw on the inside!

Creamy Rice Pudding
Great recipe! I made it exactly as the recipe says except I used xylitol instead of sugar (same amount). Topped it with cinnamon and tried not to eat ALL of it at once. So good and easy! I don't think I will need to try another rice pudding recipe; this one is the bee's knees.

MMMMM... Brownies
One of THE best brownie recipes I've tried, and I've tried many.

Chocolate Cheesecake II
Excellent except the topping didn't work very well, so the second time I made this I just left it off. It doesn't need it anyway, the cheesecake is great by itself!
