Berdean's Cube Steak

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2013
I used Montreal seasoning instead of salt and pepper. I also carmalized 1 small onion before I pan fried the cube steaks. This was very good. I made mashed potatoes and peas to go along with it.

Pesto Cheesy Chicken Rolls

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2010
This was VERY good. I seasoned the chicken first with season salt and pepper, then I spread the pesto on, added sun dried tomatoes, then the mozzarella cheese and rolled them up. Then I rolled them in Italian bread crumbs and lightly sprayed them with butter flavor crisco. Then I cooked them in a 350 degree oven for 45 minutes. YUM!

Glazed Pork Chop

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2009
These pork chops were pretty good. I first seasoned them with Paula Deen's house seasoning, then I put the mustard glaze on them. I had to cook them for 30 minutes at 325 degrees instead of the 20 minutes listed in the recipe.Next time I will cook them at 350 for the 20 minutes.

Meatloaf with Fried Onions and Ranch Seasoning

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2009
This is hands down the BEST meatloaf recipe I have found! (and I have tried alot of recipes for meatloaf, but have never been happy with any of them) I will definitely be making this again.

Cabbage Fat-Burning Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2009
Good vegetable soup recipe. I added a can of chickpeas, and seasoned with garlic powder and pepper, (soup is bland without some seasonings) Next time I would omit the green pepper as it gave the soup a funny taste.

Guinness® Corned Beef

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2009
This was very good. I couldn't find a "single" bottle of Guinness beer, and since no one in my family drinks beer, I had to find a different beer to use. I ended up using 18 oz of Heineken and I also added 1 cup of gingerale. I cooked the cabbage, potatoes, carrots and onions along with the corned beef all together in my crockpot for 9 1/2 hours and it was very tender and almost falling apart delicious. I would definitely make this again.

Roast Pork with Maple and Mustard Glaze

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2009
This was a awesome recipe.I used a 2/12 pound boneless boston butt pork roast and I took the sugestion from someone who upped the heat in the oven to 425º for the first 20 minutes and then continued cooking at 375º for 40 minutes. I also had to cook it for 30 minutes more due to the internal temperature was only at 140º. I also roasted some onions in the marinade while it was cooking. Will definately make again.

Strawberry Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2008
These muffins were ok at best. I used other reviewers comments about adding the cinnamon, brown sugar (Splenda)and vanilla, but the came out very dry. I also used regular Splenda for the sugar. I wasn't happy with the texture, but the flavor was ok.

I marinated the zucchini for about 1 1/2 hours before I grilled it on my Cusinart Griddler. Very good. Will make again.

Seven Layer Taco Dip

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2007
I took this Mexican dip to a party this weekend and it was gone within 30 minutes! I did make a few changes. Instead of using fresh tomato, I used a can of petite diced tomatoes, I also added a 16 oz can of Mexicorn and used Mexican blend shredded cheese. Will definately make again.

Very Good! I used boneless/skinless chicken breasts instead of the thighs, and I added broccoli at the last 30 minutes of cooking.

Linguine with Peppers and Sausage

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2007
This recipe has good flavor; but it didn't "knock my socks off". I used bow tie pasta instead of linguine, and I used 1 green pepper instead of the red peppers. I also sprinkled a little basil in with the sausage and pepper mixture while it was cooking. As for the cheese, I used a blend of parmesan and romano. I will most likely make this again.

Pork Chops with Pear Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2006
Too me this recipe was just okay. I made this recipe with a few changes. First of all, I used 2 little Delmonte pear cups and the juice from them, instead of using fresh pears and buying pear juice. Second, I did not puree the pear mixture, as I like the texture of the whole little pears instead. I put 1 tablespoon of cinnamon in it and it was way too overpowering and gave it a gritty taste. Next time I will definitely add the cinnamon by "to taste", not buy these measurements. Also, my mixture was thickened in 20 minutes; it didn't take 30 minutes like the recipe said. Overall, it had a good flavor. This can also be done with apples if you do not like pears.

Bowties and Broccoli

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2006
I really did not care for this receipe. I cut this recipe in half, and instead of sliced garlic, I used minced garlic (the one that comes in the jar)and added Mrs. Dash's Tomato-Basil-Garlic seasoning. To me it had too much garlic flavor... Maybe it was because I used the minced garlic instead of the sliced garlic, I don't know. I like garlic, but I do not like tasting garlic hours later after I ate .... Probably will not make again.

Connie's Zucchini "Crab" Cakes

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2006
Very Good. I've been looking for a different way to fix zucchini.(Especially since I don't really like zucchini in the first place...) I would not mistake it for the real "crab cakes"though. Also, I think it needs some kind of dipping sauce to go with it. I used a dill dressing, and it went good with it.

Excellent dressing recipe. Anytime I am asked to bring a salad to a cookout, this dressing is always requested. I also have tried shallots in stead of the onion and it turned out reaaly good also. Definite keeper!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2006
This recipe is an awesome blast from the past!! I remember eating this growing up. I took others advice and added sliced onions on top of the roast when I put it in the crock pot. It gave it more onion flavor. Great comfort food.

This recipe was very easy to make and tasted great! I used boneless pork chops instead of thick pork chops with the bone. Will definitely make again. It's a keeper!
