Shredded Beef Tacos with Lime

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2012
Absolutely excellent! So tender and the favor was perfect! I only had time to marinate for an hour, and it still turned out great.

Mrs. Fields Cookie Recipe I

Reviewed: May 18, 2005
well, not exactly Mrs. Fields - but I do like the texture of this cookie. I don't know why people are saying they taste funny - they taste like whats in them - oatmeal choc chip cookies! I recommend baking them 12 minutes (although I am high altitude) and letting them cool for at least 5 minutes on the pan before removing them. I took my first batch out after 10 minutes and the cookies still had a big raw looking mound in the middle. After tasting both once they cooled I thought the texture and flavor was much better when cooked 12 min.

Mexican Rice I

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2005
I have tried quite a few mexican rice recipes from this site, and this is one is my favorite - my search is over! The amount of spice and tomato was just right. I did just dump in some salsa instead of opening a fresh jar of tomato sauce. Thanks for an easy and tasty recipe!

Cowboy Cookies I

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2007
I halfed the recipe - other than that I followed the directions exactly. I thought the dough did not have the right consistency - I cooked a few batches and the cookies took a long time to cook - and they were very flat - stuck to the cookie sheet. I then added a little flour to the rest of the dough and the next batch turned out a little better. If i make these again, I would NOT put the milk in the dough and I would bake them at 375.

Raspberry Cream Gelatin

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2006
This is my new favorite jello recipe. Its so easy and everyone asks for the recipe. I don't bother draining the raspberries - or thawing them. To save time I just put them in the jello after adding the hot water - then the let it set a little before beating in the chilled evaporated milk. The raspberries get all broken up that way, but I liked how it was smooth and had such a nice texture.

Classic Candied Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
Very good - I didn't cook the brown sugar and butter in a pan, though - I just sprinkled it on top of the sweet potatoes and baked them.

A Simply Perfect Roast Turkey

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
My first turkey turned out perfect! Didn't stuff with stuffing - don't like my stuffing soggy from inside a bird - so I stuffed it with 2 whole onions and a couple celery sticks instead.

Naan

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2008
Wow - this is the first time my naan has actually turned out good. I used a grill pan to cook mine - then brushed with butter and sprinkled a tiny of of garlic salt on top.

Cheesecake Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2007
WARNING - these cheesecake bars are extreemely addictive. They sit in your fridge and tempt you to just eat one more. But you can' stop, and before you know it you're 10 pounds heavier and you have to buy a whole new wardrobe. I don't always have nuts on hand, so instead of the crust in this recipe, I use the crust from 'THe Best Lemon Bars' from this site -- just have to remember to lightly grease the bottom on the pan if you are doing that crust -and don't cook it too long - 10-15 minutes tops. I double the filling - and they are best after they have been refrigerated overnight.

Peach Cobbler VI

Great easy recipe. Next time I will make it in a smaller pan so it will be a little more thick...and perhaps use a little less butter.

Granny's Oatmeal Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2005
This is my new favorite bread recipe. The flavor is great - and it has just the right amount of sweetness. I did not scald the milk because I didn't feel I needed to. I used half white flour and half wheat flour.

Cranberry Hootycreeks

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2008
Great cookie recipe. I think the base of this recipe could be used for other kinds of cookies - like try mixing in gumdrops at christmas time, or peanut butter cups for a chocolate version.

Pizza Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2008
Very tasty -but pretty expensive to make, in my opinion. I doubled the amount of pizza sauce and used one pound of italian sausage. I probably won't make it again - just because of the cost and my kids didn't eat it.
