Cheesecake Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2007
WARNING - these cheesecake bars are extreemely addictive. They sit in your fridge and tempt you to just eat one more. But you can' stop, and before you know it you're 10 pounds heavier and you have to buy a whole new wardrobe. I don't always have nuts on hand, so instead of the crust in this recipe, I use the crust from 'THe Best Lemon Bars' from this site -- just have to remember to lightly grease the bottom on the pan if you are doing that crust -and don't cook it too long - 10-15 minutes tops. I double the filling - and they are best after they have been refrigerated overnight.

Peach Cobbler VI

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2007
Great easy recipe. Next time I will make it in a smaller pan so it will be a little more thick...and perhaps use a little less butter.

Cowboy Cookies I

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2007
I halfed the recipe - other than that I followed the directions exactly. I thought the dough did not have the right consistency - I cooked a few batches and the cookies took a long time to cook - and they were very flat - stuck to the cookie sheet. I then added a little flour to the rest of the dough and the next batch turned out a little better. If i make these again, I would NOT put the milk in the dough and I would bake them at 375.

Raspberry Cream Gelatin

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2006
This is my new favorite jello recipe. Its so easy and everyone asks for the recipe. I don't bother draining the raspberries - or thawing them. To save time I just put them in the jello after adding the hot water - then the let it set a little before beating in the chilled evaporated milk. The raspberries get all broken up that way, but I liked how it was smooth and had such a nice texture.

Mrs. Fields Cookie Recipe I

Reviewed: May 18, 2005
well, not exactly Mrs. Fields - but I do like the texture of this cookie. I don't know why people are saying they taste funny - they taste like whats in them - oatmeal choc chip cookies! I recommend baking them 12 minutes (although I am high altitude) and letting them cool for at least 5 minutes on the pan before removing them. I took my first batch out after 10 minutes and the cookies still had a big raw looking mound in the middle. After tasting both once they cooled I thought the texture and flavor was much better when cooked 12 min.

Granny's Oatmeal Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2005
This is my new favorite bread recipe. The flavor is great - and it has just the right amount of sweetness. I did not scald the milk because I didn't feel I needed to. I used half white flour and half wheat flour.

The Best Lemon Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2005
I make this lemon bar recipe all the time! There is a very light lemon flavor when the recipe is followed exactly. I usually juice my lemons and add more lemon juice until I have at least 2/3 cup. I love the shortbread crust - yum.

Sage Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2005
This recipe has become 'THE' pork chop recipe for me. The pork chops are moist, flavorful, and delicious. Sometimes I cook the chops in a can of beef broth instead of dissolving bouillon - that makes the recipe even faster and easier - and dirties one less pan.

Banana Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2005
This is the first banana bread recipe that I have really liked! I made just one large loaf instead of two smaller ones, and baked it for one hour. It smelled great while baking, and it tasted great too. I did add about 1/4 cup chocolate chips since I love the flavor of chocolate with banana, and I added 1 tsp. vanilla.

Mexican Rice I

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2005
I have tried quite a few mexican rice recipes from this site, and this is one is my favorite - my search is over! The amount of spice and tomato was just right. I did just dump in some salsa instead of opening a fresh jar of tomato sauce. Thanks for an easy and tasty recipe!

Easy Baked Tilapia

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2005
I love this recipe! It really couldn't be easier! I didn't measure the spices - just sprinkled a bunch on - and it was so delicious. Even my 2-year old gobbled it up and asked for more. I will be making his often.

Lime Chicken Soft Tacos

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2004
Great recipe! I used this with leftover shredded pork and it was great! I usually double the spices and liquid so the meat has even more flavor. I have found this recipe is much more flavorful if already cooked, shredded meat is used.
