I'm 16 and I've been cooking since I was a kid. It started when my dad would ask me to help him cook when I was around 4 or 5 and I've just adapted from there. My family and I are Italian, but my step-family is from Mexican decent so I love both styles of food. Now that I'm older I'm aloud to cook on my own, but I'm usually trusted with deserts because my family and friends love my baking.
My favorite things to cook
Spaghetti, Lasanga, Garlic Bread, Cookies, Cake, Brownies, Carrot Casserole, Eggs, Pancakes, French Toast, etc.
My favorite family cooking traditions
With my Italian heritage and growing up with my step-family as well, I grew up learning to make differnet types of food, but there is one thing both my family's had in common: We all got together and we cooked plenty of food for everyone. I guess my favorite family tradition would just be cooking with my family, because many family's don't take the time to do so.
My cooking triumphs
Nothing too major for this section. My family and friend's just always compliment my cooking and they leave baking to me.
My cooking tragedies
Well, this isn't really a tragedy but it is a really fun memory. One of my best friend's lost a bet and had to make cookies for this guy and he decided to come over and make sure it got done. So it was me, my two best friend's, and a guy one of them owed cookies to.
So we were all supposed to be baking these cookies and as time went on, I was the only one still making the cookies. So instead of giving more details, I'll just be straightforward and say we had a flour fight... And I had a piano lesson right after that... Good times! :)
