Bourbon-Mango Pulled Pork

This recipe was good, but not any better than the other pulled pork recipes I've tried. The pork after cooking with balsamic vinegar and chili powder tasted very good, but I don't think the mango/honey/bourbon combination improved the barbecue sauce any. If you have mangoes that you need to use, it doesn't hurt to throw them in, but it also does not contribute in any memorable way.

Buffalo Chicken and Roasted Potato Casserole

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend wasting bacon or chicken on this recipe. the best part was the potatoes-- the rest really didn't contribute anything. When I made the sauce, I found that it was thick (more of a paste than a sauce) because 1/3 cup of oil and 6 tbs of hot sauce is not enough liquid to absorb the vast amounts of powdered spices. the potatoes themselves were quite good, but as a casserole I will not make this again.

Chicken or Turkey Tetrazzini Deluxe

fantastic recipe for a quick dinner. Followed the recipe pretty closely, though I halved it for the two of us. Used cream of celery soup, 1/2 cup of chicken broth and 1/2 cup of half and half, though in the future I think I'll use all chicken broth for a more soupy consistency. I don't have sherry so I added about 1/4 cup additional chicken broth, 1 tbs of lemon juice and 1 tbs of vinegar. Used egg noodles and topped with bread crumbs and paprika. on my own plate, I added a ton of red pepper flakes because I like spicy, but even without, this was fantastic.

Green Hot Sauce (Salsa Verde)

we really enjoy this recipe, although we've played with ratios a little bit to reduce the bitterness of the tomatillos. for enchiladas for two, we halve everything except the number of serranos (we like it spicy!). Great flavor and you really can't beat the simplicity of this recipe. Thanks!

The recipe as written is decent, but not as palatable as I would like for it to be. I added 1 tbs of cumin, doubled the salt, added maybe 1/2 tsp of adobo seasoning and threw in some corn. Decent quick meal, but not extraordinary.

Best Strawberry Daiquiri

Very tasty base, although we altered it to a point where some might say I ought not review... Anyhow, we made virgin daiquiris using a total of 1 cup of lemon lime soda, 1/3 cup of standard granulated sugar, 1/4 c of lime juice, 8 ounces of frozen strawberries and 4 1/2 cups of ice/ Great change of pace to accompany dinner.

Indonesian Satay

Wow! Made this for dinner tonight and I couldn't get enough of it. Increased the amount of cumin in the marinade, marinaded for 1 hour, and decided not to make the peanut sauce tonight, but I will try it next time I make this. Because we don't have a grill and I didn't want it to burn on the george foreman, I put it under the broiler for eight minutes per side-- juicy, flavorful, and delicious! Not a perfect recipe, but for ease of preparation, you can't beat it.

Tomato Basil Penne Pasta

Eating this for dinner right now and I'm really enjoying it! Used about 1 1/4 cup of cheese (1 cup mozarella, 1/4 cup parm) and added dried basil and red pepper flakes to the oil before cooking garlic. I used nearly a full box of pasta and it had a great cheese to pasta ratio, for us. Also added 1/3 cup of chicken broth. Very simple, delicious recipe.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

as the plethora of reviewers before me, I added 1 tbs of Worcestershire sauce to the meat mixture along with two cloves of garlic, subbed 1/2 cup of bread crumbs for the saltines, used 1/2 chopped onion and half onion soup mix, and added a liberal amount of oregano and italian seasonings to the meat mixture. I left the brown sugar- ketchup ratio as is (I personally love sweet meat) and thought it was great! Very quick assembly that led to a delicious dinner.

Penne with Spicy Vodka Tomato Cream Sauce

this was a great recipe for a beginner like myself. I used closer to 7 cloves of garlic (just because I love it) and a wine over the vodka. Also tripled the red pepper flakes. the sauce tastes similar to olive garden's shrimp mezzaluna-- definitely a keeper!

Easy Herb Roasted Turkey

Used this recipe for our first turkey ever and I must say-- it was the best turkey I ever had. I mixed in three tbsp of butter per a previous reviewer and placed most of the mixture under the skin, the meat was so delicious and moist! We didn't use a turkey bag, as the recipe doesn't call for one, and I don't think one is needed. will definitely use this turkey again for other holidays.

Yummy Sweet Potato Casserole

I've never made sweet potatoes before and to be honest, I'm not a very good chef. This was my first time attempting this recipe and my boyfriend and I absolutely loved it! followed suggestions and baked the potatoes rather than boiling them. the pecans are such a nice alternative to gooey marshmallows and the entire dish is simply delicious, even the second and third day after. fantastic!
