Bread Pudding III

Reviewed: May 24, 2004
This is by far the best bread pudding I have ever had. The only change I made was once using dried cranberries instead of raisons. I also add a little more spice to mine. I found it important to pour the liguid slowly over the bread and then let it sit 5-10 minutes before baking. I bake for 30-40 minutes though. when knife inserted comes out clean. Thanks Nancy

Jesse and Steve's Fresh Strawberry Cake

Reviewed: May 17, 2004
Sorry, but I did not think much of this cake. Was'nt very moist and didn't have much of a strawberry flavor. Maybe if you use it in a shortcake recipe?

Butternut Squash Bisque

Reviewed: May 17, 2004
This is a simple & excellent soup recipe. The only changes I made we're using leeks (white parts only) instead of the onion. I added a pinch of cinnamon & allspice as well. Definately add the cream! Thanks PhoneLady......

Glazed Lemon Supreme Pound Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 29, 2004
I thought the cake sounded good but I didn't have all the same ingredients. I used orange cake mix, orange jell-o and lemon extract. For the glaze I used orange juice with the powdered sugar. The instructions for the glaze "pour over hot cake before inverting" sounded WRONG. But I did it anyways and was sorry I did. In my opinion icing or glaze should be drizzled over the top AFTER inverting for a much prettier appearance. A very large crumb also. But very moist and tastey.

Apricot Chicken III

Reviewed: Feb. 29, 2004
I too used 1/2 the onion soup mix as suggested by others. but I was still disapointed with the flavor so I added 3 TBS. soy sauce, 1/4 C. light brown sugar, and 1 tsp. sesame oil. Made for a very nice asian kick... marinated in the frig for 3 hours. Served with steamed rice

Canadian Barn BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: May 24, 2004
AFTER READING ALL THE REVIEWS I COULD'NT WAIT TO TRY THIS SAUCE. WHAT A TOTAL DISAPOINTMENT. I CUT BACK THE BROWN SUGAR TO 1 CUP AND IT WAS STILL WAY TOO SWEET. DIDN'T TASTE ANYTHING LIKE A BBQ SAUCE. SORRY TO SAY I WONT BE USING THIS AGAIN. I GAVE IT 2 STARS BECAUSE THE APPLE SAUCE GAVE IT SOME BODY AND TEXTURE.

Lemon Pudding Cake I

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2004
WOW... I sure thought this couldn't be as good as everyone had rated it. I was wrong. This pudding cake is supurb. The only change I made was adding more zest. I must also add that it is not 12 servings as suggested. Try 6 unless your happy with just a bite.
