Poppyseed Dressing

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2015
Poppyseed dressings in my experience have been hit or miss. This is definitely a hit and I was happy that there was just the right amount of onion. I halved the recipe and used slightly less oil than the recipe called for as I like things a bit on the tangy side. Great recipe.

Potato, Bacon, and Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2015
Simple and delicious... I changed things around just a little bit. I sautéed the carrots and celery in the butter, added a little onion, and then I stirred in the flour and milk. I used two cups of milk and one cup chicken broth and I used frozen corn and a can of creamed corn. I forgot the bay leaf but it was fine with just some salt and pepper. Endless possibilities with this recipe.

Smokin' Jack BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2015
I'm pretty sure I just ate about 1/4 cup of this sauce with a spoon. It is so good! I had some leftover chipotle peppers and adobo sauce that I had to use up and I'm glad I chose this recipe. I did put the peppers in a blender with the vinegar first, which I think ended up making the sauce a little spicier. I added some ketchup and some more brown sugar to kill the heat a little. Will definitely make again!

Kielbasa and Cabbage

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2015
Delicious and easy! I didn't have any caraway seeds and I don't think they were missed. I will definitely make this recipe again. Also, I only used about a tablespoon of the bacon grease. I think any more would have been too much.

Waffles I

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2014
I did as others said... Whipped the whites before adding yolks and the remaining ingredients, and added extra vanilla and brown sugar. The waffles were excellent and fluffy.

Key Lime Pie VII

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2014
I don't think that I have ever had key lime pie before so I don't have anything to compare this recipe to, but I thought it was delicious. My girls and I had a good time squeezing the limes. I'm a little surprised that so many people said 3/4 cup of key lime juice was the equivalent if about 20 limes. I used ten and it was exactly 3/4 cup. A little hint to getting the most out juice out of your citrus fruit... Roll it on the counter a few times to break up the pulp. :)

Graham Cracker Crust I

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2014
Not only did I love this recipe, but I also loved reading the negative reviews! LOL If this graham cracker crust doesn't work for you, then you weren't looking for a graham cracker crust. :)

Mexican Rice

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2014
This is so good that I can't even wait until it's done cooking to review it! I just had a taste with 3 minutes on the clock and as expected the rice is not quite done, but the flavor, WOW. I used canned corn (drained) and I only had a small can of tomato sauce so I added a little extra salsa and in place of the beef broth I used water and two bouillon cubes. It is delicious. Thank you!

Maple Cinnamon Ham Glaze

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2014
Fantastic and EASY! I dumped this on some thick ham slices in a casserole dish and threw it in the oven. Occasionally I spooned some sauce on top of the ham slices. This might be my new favorite way to eat ham.

Slow Cooker Apple Butter with Honey

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2014
I wasn't sure about adding honey to apple butter, but I did it and it was great. I didn't use exact ingredients and I also threw in a couple Olympic pears. When I told my mom I was making apple butter she said, "Just buy it! It's not worth the hassle!" Hassle? I put some ingredients in a slow cooker and left it to cook itself. Thank you for a great recipe.

Cinnamon Heart Popcorn

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2014
This is a good recipe if you want a really sweet, cinnamon popcorn. I prefer mine to be a little more spicy, but my kids and my husband loved it. I did have it on the stove longer then anticipated as it took a long time to melt the red hots. After they melted, then I boiled for five minutes. I also didn't bother with the parchment paper or the bowl. I put all the popcorn in a prepared roasting pan which I kept in the oven as another reviewer suggested, and then poured the boiling candy over it. I mixed it up before putting it in the oven and about four times while it was in the oven. Thanks for the yummy (and easy) recipe!!

Hot Pepper Jelly

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2014
I halved this recipe but still used a full pack of pectin. The jelly set up nicely. It wasn't spicy enough for my taste so next time I will add more jalapenos. Other than that, it's a great recipe. Even my husband who had claimed he didn't like pepper jelly liked it.

Ronaldo's Beef Carnitas

I panicked a little bit when I thought I lost this recipe! Luckily, I remembered it was "Ronaldo's" and found it with a search. Fantastic recipe... I use the leftovers for nachos and breakfast burritos. Love it!

Shoepeg Corn Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2014
I thought this was delicious. Unfortunately, my family did not agree! This makes a lot (or maybe I just felt that way because I was responsible for eating it all) so I would recommend making this for big family dinners or potlucks.

Easy Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2014
These are great. A boy in my daughter's preschool class had severe allergies to peanuts, eggs, and milk, so finding a recipe I could make for my snack week was difficult. The kids all loved these and at home I make them with cream cheese frosting. Very good and easy recipe!

Chicken Enchiladas V

We thought these were a little bland, but they were still good. It is definitely a recipe that you can adjust to your taste. If I make these again, I will probably use some cumin and other spices in the filling mixture.

Famous Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2014
We love these pork chops! I have used different cuts of pork with this recipe and it is a bit tricky to know when to pull them from the oven. I have overcooked them many times, but now I check the temperature at about 30 minutes just to make sure I won't end up with dry meat. Also, butter crackers are CRUCIAL to this recipe for 5 star results!

Wow! Sweet and Sour Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2014
This was really good and easy to adjust for your personal taste. I would have preferred it to be a little thicker so next time I will add more cornstarch. Also, this made A LOT. My family of four has now used it for two meals and we still have a large amount left. This will definitely be my go-to recipe for sweet and sour sauce from now on.

Sweet Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2013
This is my recipe (though I started a fresh account). My husband and kids always request that I make "my" spaghetti sauce. I love this recipe because it's so forgiving. I don't even measure ingredients anymore. Throw in some tomatoes, some paste, some brown sugar, and spices (I like to add a little extra oregano), and it turns out great every time. If you want it to have more kick, add some more chili powder, or crushed red pepper. Simple recipe. I have some in the crock pot right now. Great as leftovers and freezes well also.
