Barbie's Tuna Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2014
I halved the mayo but otherwise followed the recipe. We scooped it onto leaf lettuce and it was excellent. Thank you!

Shredded Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2011
We seasoned them with garlic salt and pepper. I didn't have any bacon so we used equal parts butter and bacon grease. Fantastic!!

We stir-fried some chicken and veggies and made a salad, used this as the dressing. It was excellent!

Jambalaya

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2011
I'm trying to cut out some carbs so I tried this recipe with the "cauliflower instead of rice" trick and it was phenomenal!! Didn't change a thing other than reducing the chicken broth to 1.5 cups to compensate for the lack of rice. We'll be making this a lot!

WOW!! Added cinnamon and vanilla to the dough and reduced the sugar in the berries to 3/4 cup, per other's suggestions. Amazing!!

Blueberry Buckle

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2010
We make this every summer after picking fresh blueberries. I usually have to make 2 at a time - they go that fast!

Only thing I changed was to add a clove of fresh minced garlic to the butter and oil.

Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2010
The only things I do differently are simmer the pepper flakes, onion and garlic in the oil before adding ground mild Italian sausage, and use 2 cans of Italian diced tomatoes. This is so good - the whole family enjoys it!

Mini Meatloaves

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2009
My kids go nuts for this recipe, even the picky one. I make them in a mini-meatloaf pan, cook for 30 minutes, then top with BBQ sauce and cook for 20 more. It's delicious!

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2008
I've tried a lot of lasagna recipes and this one is the BEST! I make two changes - ground turkey instead of beef, and drained cottage cheese mixed with an egg and some Parmesan instead of Ricotta. Ten stars!

Chicken and Dumplings III

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2008
Num! I added plenty of seasoning to the water, some fresh carrots and celery, and let the dumplings cook for 8 minutes uncovered and then 10 minutes covered. My kids really liked it, even the picky one.

Sarge's EZ Pulled Pork BBQ

Reviewed: May 7, 2008
We cooked the roast for 6 hours and then drained the liquid, shredded the meat and smothered it in "Big Al's K.C. Bar-B-Q Sauce" from this site, and let it sit on low for another half hour. Heaven!

Big Al's K.C. Bar-B-Q Sauce

Reviewed: May 7, 2008
We halved the recipe and put the sauce in the crockpot over a cut up 5lb pork shoulder roast. Wow, that was the best pulled pork sandwich ever. You know the food is good when there are 3 small kids sitting at the table but all you hear is silence! As the others have said, I'll never buy a bottle of bbq sauce again!

Pasta and Herbs

Reviewed: May 3, 2008
I cheated. I used a stick of unsalted butter, 4 cloves of garlic and a tablespoon of dried "Italian Seasoning" out of a jar. Just let it simmer while your pasta boils and serve with a sprinkling of fresh Parmesan cheese. Couldn't be easier or more yummy!

I followed some of the other suggestions and baked the potatoes and then added some nutmeg and cinnamon to them. I also used more pecans than called for. This was SO good, a definite Holiday keeper!

Baked Asparagus with Balsamic Butter Sauce

This was the first time I've had asparagus and it was okay. The sauce was great, though. I'm going to try it on green beans.

Golden Sweet Cornbread

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2007
I tried it with the recommended amount of sugar and the added vanilla and it was really sweet, almost like cake. Very good, but not what we had in mind for dinner. This time I left out the vanilla and reduced the sugar to 1/2C and it was just great. This is my youngest's absolute favorite thing!
