Cream Cheese Bars II

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2004
This recipe was just great. Thanks for sharing it. I would give it more stars if I could. After trying this, I will never make cheesecake again. I plan on making this many more times, although for the filling I may use a tad less sugar from now on. Once again, really a great recipe.

French Egg and Bacon Sandwich

Well I love eggs. I love bacon. And I love french toast. I do suggest sweetening the batter somewhat. Overall, I do love this recipe.

Bacon Cheese Treats

This is a very good recipe. I didn't rate it higher because I didn't care much for the crescent roll dough. The fillingas terrific though. I will make them again but try with another type of dough.

I'll try some variations of this recipe. It was good as a basic, but it needs work.

Celebration Pie

Reviewed: May 3, 2004
This was a good pie recipe. For how easy it was, it was a GREAT pie recipe. I used lemon lime and it came out really nice. Although next time I will cut down on the amount of condensed milk.

Very good and very easy. Also very creamy. Still, I feel something wasn't quite right with it. I will make it again.

Easy Cream Cheese Danish

Wonderful recipe. Very similair to "Cream cheese bars II", but probably a bit better. And I do agree with the others. I suggest cutting the filling content in half.

Shaped Vanilla Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2004
These were great. Probably some of the best cookies I've ever made. I did a couple of things different. I used cake flour as opposed to all purpose. I dropped them top first into a mixture of sugar and cinamon before setting them on the pan. And finally, I didn't shape them. I simply chilled the dough and used a tablespoon to drop blobs of them onto the pan. They came out very light, fluffy and cakey. I will make them again.

Chemical Apple Pie (No Apple Apple Pie)

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2004
I mainly made this just to see how it would come out. I was surprised at how apply it tasted. I probably won't make it again, just because there's too many other easy pies out there, but if I do, I will use alot more cinamon, and a little more butter. The pies flavor was kind of monotonous. All very sweet, and I couldn't pick up the cinamon at all. I'd use at least 2 tablespoons cinamonif I made it again, but all in all, not a bad pie.

Peanut Butter Cream Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2004
Not bad. Not great. It was just like peanut butter fudge in a pie shell, only a little less candy-like and a little more filling like. It wasn't the light and fluffy texture I was hoping for.

Baked Potato Soup I

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2004
This si one of the BEST recipes I've ever gotten from this site. It was thick and very creamy. I added double the amount of bacon, and would suggest the same to anyone I recommend this recipe to. The great thing is, unlike an actual baked potato, you are sur eto get the full flavor in every bite, so this soup is actually far better than an actual potato. All in all, this recipe is a huge winner and will be made many more times in my kitchen.

Apple Dumpling Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2005
This recipe is a keeper, no question. I modified the recipe a bit. I placed on elayer of apple slices in the dish, topped with a mixture of brown and white sugar, then pats of butter. Another layer of apples, more sugar, butter, and so on, then the dough. TOO MUCH BUTTER! That's my own fault though, and I factored that in when rating the recipe. Next time I will make it to the letter, and mess with changes from then on. One more thing. I used both washington and mcintosh apples. The washington apples really took away from the recipe. They are bland. mcintosh are much better. More fruity tasting. Still, all 4 people that ate this recipe loved it, so it's a winner, and will go to my favorites box.

Beignets

Reviewed: May 5, 2005
As a native of southern louisiana who has lived in a city near new orleans all my life, I can say these are fairly decent beignets. They can't compare to cafe du monde, or the festivals beignets, but they are not bad. Need lots and lots of powdered sugar though. More than the recipe lists.

Donna's Famous Cheesecake

Reviewed: May 7, 2005
Made 2 of them. Don't have a springform pan so I bought 2 premade gram cracker crusts. We tried one while it was still warm and said "ehh it's ok..." The taste was alright, but the texture was strangle. Very "eggy". Stuck them in the fridge and let them chill for the day. They are 100x better. A really good cheesecake recipe.
