Sarah's Ambrosia Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2015
Love ambrosia salad! So delicious. This recipe was good. I substituted half the sour cream with cool whip (8oz sour cream and 8 oz cool whip), and it turned out perfectly to our tastes. Have made several times. Thanks!

Banana Chocolate Chip Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2015
I'm always looking for a new way to use my leftover bananas. This recipe was good, but I think I prefer banana/chocolate chip muffins or donuts to this cake. I don't know, it's just a texture thing for me, I guess. I made no changes to the recipe though, and cake turned out nicely.

Buckeyes I

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2015
Very good! Giving 4 stars since I used modification of 2 cups pb and 4 cups powdered sugar, as many reviewers suggested. Delicious this way! Chilled pb mixture prior to rolling which helped with stickiness. These will be a Christmas staple from now on.

Bacon and Cheddar Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2015
Nice change from cream cheese stuffed mushrooms. We enjoyed them. Will probably use this recipe as a base and try some variations on the stuffing.

Chef John's Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2015
Delicious. We love chicken marsala, but it is hard to find a good recipe for it! This was perfect, simple and delicious. My only change was using skinless, boneless chicken breasts rather than skin on.

Jalapeno Poppers I

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2015
Loved these. They turned out great! Slit the jalapeños down one side, but kept them whole. Stuffing mostly stayed inside this way. Otherwise, no changes.

Honey Steelhead Trout

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2015
Good. I felt the seasoning/saltiness was a little overpowering, but I usually limit my salt, so it may have just been me. My family disagreed that it was too salty. I would try this again, easy and tasty, but would change the seasoning a bit.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2015
A great recipe. I have made these muffins many times (usually without the topping), good with fresh or frozen berries. Have modified using banana instead of oil and chocolate chips instead of berries. Always delicious!

Absolutely Delicious Green Bean Casserole from Scratch

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2015
I liked this recipe, but it needs a little something. I added a tsp of thyme and upped black pepper to 1/2 tsp since many reviews said bland taste. I also sauteed the mushrooms with the onions. The sour cream taste is rich (used maybe 3/4 cup) and just not quite what I wanted for the sauce. I might try to modify using milk, broth and Worcestershire sauce, and reduce like when making a pot pie. Regardless, I liked this far better than the usual green bean casserole, and I would make it again.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2015
I have made this recipe many times, and it I'd delicious. I was unsure about the Italian dressing when I first read the recipe, but I am glad I didn't change it because it added a nice taste. Very good, wouldn't change a thing. I use Sticky Fingers Carolina sweet BBQ sauce.

Really good and easy. Added some dill to my salmon, otherwise followed recipe exactly. Nice, mild flavor that complemented the fish. Perfectly cooked. Will make this again.

Stuffing for Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2015
Loved it. Turned out perfectly (with the reduced amount of liquid reviewers recommended). Very similar to my grandma's stuffing, which I always loved. Perfect mix of soft and crunchy cooking this way.

Easy Mexican Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2014
Really good! I added taco seasoning to about 1.5 lb of meat and the salsa. Gave a good flavor but not too spicy. Added about 1 cup frozen corn in place of beans to cater to my kids' tastes. I will not skip the beans next time (sorry kiddos), they would have rounded the taste out, but will keep the corn addition. I think I will use a guacamole/sour cream mix next time. The sour cream alone was a little overpowering for my taste. Will definitely make again. Good easy dinner!

Absolutely delicious and a simple recipe, too! I made no changes and it turned out beautifully. Used 3 very large honeycrisp apples. I will definitely make this again.

Broccoli Mango Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2014
I had to try this because the ingredients were such an unusual combination. Plus, we have tons of mango in the freezer from our tree. It was surprisingly good! Flavors combined really well. Not something I would make often, as I really don't love raw broccoli, but it was a good recipe.

Sesame Noodles

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2014
My family really liked these noodles! Made several times, served both hot and cold. Rating 4 stars because did reduce oil to 4tbsp and sugar to 4 tbsp (use brown sugar--tasted better). More sugar would have been too sweet. Added a bag of stir fry veges (fried up in some of the sauce). We preferred this dish served cold. Noodles soaked up sauce after awhile, more flavorful and no sauce on bottom of bowl after 1-2 hours.

We love this, and it is so easy! Perfect for a busy day. Followed suggestion to add cilantro for last hour or two of cooking, and used sodium-free taco seasoning I make at home.
