Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2010
These are delicious Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies! I added 1 tsp of vanilla and and extra 1/2 cup of oats and 1/2 cup of pbutter - made a few with mini choc chips, those were yummy too! The only other pbutter cookie I make is the Flourless Peanut Butter Cookie from this site. Two totally different cookies....both DeLiCiOus!!!!!

Ranch Dressing II

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2008
THE BEST is the only way to rate this ranch dressing. No more store bought for this family - no more questionable preservatives either! I make it as stated except for doubling the dill - because we love the stronger dill taste. As is, still delicious, and that is how I make it for a group. Try adding a couple of tablespoons of salsa for a salsa ranch, or mix in the blender with some cilantro for another yummy variation!

Satiny Chocolate Glaze

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2008
Perfect chocolate glaze for a bundt cake. I just tossed everything into a bowl, microwaved for 1 minute and whipped it up with a wisk! Poured on top of the Pumpkin Gingerbread recipe from this site - I make two bundt cakes out of the PG recipe - and I wanted to make the second one a bit different by adding the glaze! Delicious! Try them both!

Pumpkin Gingerbread

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2008
The most delicious gingerbread ever!! I add a teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice and otherwise follow the recipe. Instead of using 2 9x5 bread pans - try splitting the batter between two bundt cake pans - one for home and one to give. Makes a huge bundt cake - with a longer baking time - if you use the batter all in one. I did that the first time I made it and have split it into two ever since! Don't ask me how many times I've made this since i discovered it in August....I've lost count! Just try it, you won't be disappointed if you're looking for a pumpkin gingerbread!

Flourless Chocolate Cake II

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2008
Very, very, good! I tried the Trader Joe's cake and thought it was yummy and thought that maybe I could duplicate it - well this recipe puts TJ's to shame! I haven't tried it with any of the mentioned toppings...but by itself, all the gals at my craft get together agreed it was the BEST. Easy to put together - I used a springform pan to keep it simple!

Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2008
Add one more to the bunch - these are the best peanut butter cookies! My hubby is the pb addict and he said these are the best I've ever made. I am addicted to any kind of choc chip - and there are several 5+ on this site - but I've got to have some of these cookies because they are the yummiest I've tasted - the best way to say it is this: If you're dreaming of peanut butter cookies that go perfect with milk, with out of this world peanut buttery taste...that literally melt in your mouth before you take that gulp of milk - make these NOW! People will not believe the flour is missing! Update: This is now the requested PB cookie in our house - fine with me since these are quick and easy!

Never Fail Pie Crust II

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2008
Perfect pie crust. I love to cook and have tried to make my own crust several times and just wasn't too impressed. When the Fall weather kicked in a bit this week, I decided to make an apple pie with REAL crust. I spotted this recipe because it said I didn't need to roll out the dough and decided to try it. I am sooooo glad I did - this will be my crust recipe for life. I like a thicker crust, this will make three pies. Tried it with a sour cream apple pie and the Brown Family Pumpkin pie which I've made before and didn't think it could get any more delicious - well a homemade crust does make the difference! Make up the dough and freeze the extra...of course, I haven't had to freeze any...my family us loving the pies coming out of the kitchen this week :)

Brown Family's Favorite Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2008
You know what's so great about this pie? You actually get to taste 'pumpkin' not just sugar! And because it's not horribly sweet you can appreciate the crunchy topping. I've made this several times and it's always delicious. You can also make the topping without nuts and it is yummy. Last night I made it for the first time with homemade pie crust - Never Fail Pie Crust II from this site - I didn't think it could taste any better...but it did. Easy pie crust - mix ingredients with mixer and press into pie plate. I prefer a thicker crust, so this made the pie PERFECT. You gotta try this one....

Blueberry Buckle

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2008
I doubled the recipe, followed it to the letter other than using butter instead of shortening as many people suggested, and cooked in a 9x13 dish. The house smelled wonderful and the cake rose well, but I kept having to add 5 minutes because the center was still jiggly. I think I may have cooked it for 50 minutes. Even when cool, this cake made my kitchen smell wonderful. When we tried it, there was a nice flavor, but it was very heavy and on the dry side. I'm pretty sure it'll get eaten with coffee or milk...but I wished I'd stuck to the Blueberry Boy Bait recipe on this site! The gals at my craft night didn't ask for the recipe - and that never happens!

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies from Heaven

Reviewed: May 7, 2008
These cookies are easy to through together and yummy! After reading the reviews, I decided to try it with 2-1/2 cups of flour and add a 1/4 cup of additional peanut butter. Our cookies were absolutely PERFECT. I used a cookie scoop and slightly smooshed them with the back of a spoon - added an extra couple of minutes to cook since they're a bit larger using the scoop. One thing I've noticed with peanut butter cookies - the pb taste is not that strong when they're warm and that they have more flavor the next day. Three days later these cookies are still soft in the middle, slight crunch around the center and have a delicious peanut butter taste - and you just got to love those chocolate chips - I used mini's!

Baked Potato Salad I

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2008
Just plain delicious! A great side dish for a BBQ or any meal that you want a scrumptious potato side. I use half mayo/light sour cream, cheddar and green onions. I recently made it for a camping potluck...we got to the table a bit late and everyone had served and seated. But once one person got up to get some of the dish....they all jumped up to get a serving and raved about it - the dish was scraped clean! This has become a special request side dish with our bunch!

Slow-Cooker Posole

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2008
I never thought about making pozole in the crockpot until I came across this recipe! It's just as yummy cooked this way. The only change was that I added some pieces of chicken to the soup - that is how we've always made our pozole, a mix of pork/chicken. And I add a bit more fresh diced garlic since we love it. We serve our soup in a big bowl, add a scoop of refried beans( it thickens the soup) and add condiments - chopped onion/green onion/chopped cilantro/a pinch of oregano/a twist of some lemon or lime slices to taste. Delicious, filling, comfort food. Serve all year - not just for New Year!

Cocktail Meatballs I

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2008
These are very good meatballs and very, very easy to make. I made them a second time this week - for a Valentines Party for mom's/kid's - and it was a hit! I usually have a family Valentine dinner, so I used a big bag of frozen MB's from Sam's thinking there would be at least half a crockpot full of leftovers for the dinner - wrong!! About a dozen were left because everyone just loved them. I did make one addition this time and that was to add a can of cranberry jelly which changed up the flavor just a bit from the usual recipe that makes the rounds quite a bit!

Best Spanish Rice

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2008
This is the recipe to use if you want an authentic flavorful Spanish rice recipe. So easy and delicious. I think the brand of salsa you use can make a difference, although one time I used the generic store brand - because it was the cheapest in a high priced market - and it came out just as good! Being a pretty traditional mexican home, we are very particular of what recipes actually taste authentic to us - this is definitely one to use - the best on this site!

Tex-Mex Pork

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2008
Delicious! We love that cinnamon and chili taste! No changes needed here - other than this works really well with chicken for those of us who don't eat too much pork! Made this for a Christmas potluck and grabbed a bag of mini dinner rolls from Costco - I was so disappointed that there were NO leftovers! Thanks for a yummy recipe!

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2008
The absolute BEST Chicken Tortilla soup on this site or anywhere! Follow the recipe to the letter and you will be very, very happy with your soup. I change the beans to whatever I have in the pantry, but everything else stays the same. The only exception is that I boil my chicken and use the homemade broth instead of canned to keep this fresh and healthy. If I've got a bag of tortilla chips, we just crush them up and toss on to the soup - with or without a spoonful of sour cream and a sprinkle of cheese. No disappointment with this recipe - definitely a winner!

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2008
This a delicious dip and I have never made it without being asked for the recipe. The only change I make is to mix everything together in a bowl and spoon into a small crockpot, set on low for a couple of hours! Skip the pan stuff and just toss it all into a bowl! I recently made it for our craft night and it was a hit with all the girls - it takes something really yummy to tear these women away from their scrapbooking :) even for a minute!

Cheddar Bay Biscuits

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2008
Delicous - perfect to the letter! You will get rave reviews on these biscuits. And the fact that they're quick and easy to throw together makes it even better - I live to make these with a big pot of soup - that way I don't feel as guilty eating as many as I do....you just can't help it - they are the BEST!
