Old Fashioned Coconut Cream Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2006
I made this pie for my mom's birthday, and my whole family loved it! It has a natural, not too sweet flavour. I loved it! I made the following changes like other reviewers suggested: 1 1/2 cups coconut milk, 1 1/2 cups cream, and 1/4 corn starch, 1/4 flour. It is more work than just using a Jello recipe, but it's definitely worth it! I would consider myself a beginner, so it's not the most difficult pie to make if it turned out perfectly for me! One thing I should mention is that it makes too much filling. I used a Tenderflake 9" deep dish crust and I had a bit of filling left over.

Rhubarb Custard Pie III

Reviewed: May 25, 2005
This pie was really tasty, but it made way too much filling for a 9inch pie crust. I had to dump almost half of the milk mixture out for it to fit, even though I followed the recipe perfectly.

Vanilla Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2010
They turned out well- soft in middle, chewy etc.- but they really didn't have much flavour. It tasted like something was missing; bland. I wouldn't make them again... unless maybe I had a good recipe for maple or chocolate frosting.

Delicious Raspberry Oatmeal Cookie Bars

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2007
Wow, these are delicious! I really didn't expect them to be so tasty because they were so easy to make! They were a little bit crumbly, but they still stay together fine. I used Smuckers Raspberry Jam (with seeds) and added 1/2 tsp of cinnamon. Yum!

Applesauce Cocoa Cookies

Reviewed: May 31, 2005
This is an excellent recipe- very versatile. I have many food allergies so I used amaranth flour, flax (instead of an egg), potato milk and honey (instead of granular sweetener). They still turned out wonderful. Also, if you bake them for less time they stay chewy in the middle and taste like brownies!

Butter Cream Frosting II

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2007
Excellent recipe! I used this icing on a devil's food cake for a celebration at my University- everyone really liked it! The only changes I made were to use butter instead of margarine and to cut back the sugar to 4 cups.

Golden Sweet Cornbread

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2006
Great recipe! I made this for my bf and he really enjoyed it. I let the cornmeal soak for 10 minutes, and used only 2tps of baking powder, like other reviewers suggested. It turned out perfectly. I didn't have a round pan, so I used square.

Whipped Cream

Great recipe! I used this to top off my Old Fashioned Coconut Cream Pie and it tasted awesome! I reallly wouldn't add any extra sugar like other reviewers suggested; it has a natural, not too sweet flavour.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: May 25, 2005
This is a wonderful recipe. I've made these muffins at least 5 times, and everyone I've made them for really enjoyed them. The only downside is that they don't keep for very long. The top part seems to make the muffins soggy after a few days.

Coconut Cream Pie VI

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2005
I made this pie for my bf and friend and they both thought it was really great! It set nicely and was really easy to make. I agree with the other user that this pie is a coconut CUSTARD pie, not creme. Also, something I should add (and is the reason I only gave this a 4/5) is that this recipe makes way too much filling for a 9" crust! I used TenderFlake 9" pie crust and this recipe filled TWO pies perfectly.

Baked Spaghetti Squash with Beef and Veggies

This is a delicous recipe!! I didn't have enough peppers so I used frozen mixed vegetables instead. I also used goat cheese instead of regualar cheddar. It worked out great! I'll definitely make this again.
