Extreme Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2014
Every time I make this cake and frosting, it gets rave reviews. This cake is so moist. Do not leave out the boiling water. (Swap out for fresh brewed coffee for a richer flavor) . The recipe makes a generous amount of frosting, so there's plenty if you want to split your cakes. Good thing too, because it will be hard to resist eating this by the spoonfuls or reserving some for later. (Try swirling with peanut butter )

Red Pepper Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2014
My family loved it! I added all the ingredients at one time but omitted the lemon juice. ( I forgot). I also had light cream instead of heavy. It took about 30 mins to reduce and was still thick. I had cheese tortellini and grill PERDUE short cuts. Tossed it all together and served with garlic bread. Definitely will make again. This will stay in rotation .

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2014
Just WOW. I made this as a side to an everyday dinner and it knocked the socks off the whole family. I nixed the onions and added more cheddar cheese between layered potato slices. I also topped with seasoned bread crumbs. I did take another reviewer's suggestion to microwave the slices for a few mins to cut down on bake time. I cooked on 400 for an hour and pulled off foil for last 10 mins. Will make again and maybe add bacon crumbles or ham.

Yummy Sweet Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2014
This is my go to for sweet potatoe casserole. My family request this all the time. We love pecans so I'm really heavy handed. Its so easy and fast, I can whip it up on a ordinary Tuesday, not just Thanksgiving

Slow Cooker Chicken Cacciatore

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2014
I tried this just this weekend. I had to work all day and was looking for something fabulous that would be done by the time i got home. This recipe is a home run. I made it very close to the recipe, although I added more garlic and less mushrooms.( baby bella's.) I used a Ragu Robusto sauce and I added about a 1/4 cup of wine. I find that frozen chicken breast work well in the crock pot. I used four. According to my husband, it cooked nicely and smelled up the house something wonderful. I asked that he stir it a bit around hour 4 or so. When it was done, I noticed it was a tad runny. (maybe the wine?) I think a thicker sauce would have been better. Because of the consistancy i decided to serve it over some garlic butter rice instead of pasta. Everyone loved it. I will definitely make again. Next time i'll try a thicker sauce and pair with pasta.

Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2014
This is my "go to" Alfredo recipe that makes me feel like a gourmet chef! I've made it about 8 times in the last 3 months. Usually, I make it exact to the recipe, but I made a small change this time. Some of the reviews mentioned blending a bit of gruyere with the Parmesan. I had some left over from a previous recipe so I tried it and it greatly sharpened the flavor. My husband loved it, and so did my teen kids. I actually preferred the sauce without it and won't add it again. Besides gruyere is expensive so I wouldn't try it unless you had it on hand. This recipe is the best. Try it and you'll want love it,

Coconut Macaroons

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2014
I followed the recipe exactly as written and they turned out wonderful. Next time I may try drizzling some chocolate on top. They turned out so airy and light but rich and flavorful. Will make again. I got rave reviews.

Waffles I

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2014
My go-to recipe for waffles. The are very light and fluffy. I always add more vanilla, because they are a little bland for my taste. I also add a touch of cinnamon or nut meg for Christmas...for egg nog waffles. We had guest for New Years and this was the perfect thing. It got rave reviews so I thought I'd officially make a review of my own.
