About this Cook
I am a homemaker and landlord. I have 3 dogs, 9 birds and a cat. I am a member of a classic car club. I enjoy herb, vegetable and flower gardening. I feed wild birds and squirrels. I like to cook and bake very much.

Soups, cookies, candies, cakes, chilies,and dog biscuits!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I like to cook my Thanksgiving turkey early in the day and serve the big meal for lunch. The leftovers are eaten later in the evening while watching TV.
My cooking triumphs
I have learned to cook all by myself. A sa child, I was not allowed to go into the kitchen. I learned alot by trial and error.
My cooking tragedies
I had made recipes while I was learning to cook and brought the finished products to people's homes without first trying it at home.I now always try a recipe at home and make my own adjustments!

Black Bean Soup II
This soup is way too watery. It had absolutely no flavor. It should have been made with only half the water. I would suggest using a dry chili seasoning mix instead of the cumin. You can add to your own taste. It is sold in mild, medium and hot. The soup was much too thin. Thickened up, and seasoned properly, this will be great! You can even add some cooked white rice to thicken it up. It would be more filling, too!
