Chili I

Reviewed: May 26, 2003
Made this for the 1st time over a year ago for the Super Bowl. Huge hit!! Husband took left overs to the office and everyone wanted the recipe. Now it's a favorite.

Rhubarb Crunch

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2005
Perfect. One of the best rhubarb crisp recipies I've found. Good ratio of fruit to topping (many have too much topping) and topping actually came out with a bit of a crunch (like it should) instead of soft like a cobler.

Christmas Walnut Toffee

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2005
My mother used to have this recipe (or one like it) and it was so easy and so good. I went looking for a similar recipe and found this one. It came out just the way I remember it. A lot easier than most candy making and delicious.

Kay's Shortbread

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2005
My first time making shortbread and this turned out great! Taking others' advice I added extra sugar and a bit of milk to soften (actually, I added cream). Also added a touch of almond extract. My husband is Scottish and he said these are nearly perfect. ;-)

Chocolate Crinkles II

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2005
Great, chocolately, easy cookie. Been meaning to try a crinkle cookie recipe for a while and glad I chose this one. Will add to my regular Christmas cookie list.

Coconut Macaroons III

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2005
I love this recipe. I'd made these once a long time ago (someone else gave me the recipe) and found it again here. Very sweet (can't eat more than one at once!) but simple and decadent.

Gramma's Date Squares

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2005
At Christmas my mom used to make filled date cookies. I was craving them but was too lazy to roll out the dough, etc. and this recipe had the same basic ingredients. SO glad I tried it! Tastes great and so much easier than mom's way! (She's asked me for the recipe!)

White Chocolate and Cranberry Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2005
Delicious. I add some oatmeal and use milk chocolate chips instead of white chocolate. Made these for my husband when we were dating and he still talks about them!

Best Carrot Cake Ever

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2006
This really IS the best carrot cake ever. Everyone raved about it at the family Christmas dinner I took it to; it was the first dessert to disappear (and there were 4 desserts there!). I used the "Cream Cheese Frosting II" recipe found on this site to go with it. A definite keeper.

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2006
Absolutely delicious. More "cream cheesy" than a lot of other recipies that have a higher sugar-to-cream cheese ratio.

Black Russian Cake I

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2006
This was easy and tasty. I substituted chocolate cake mix for the yellow cake mix (because I'm a chocoholic). Nice for a dinner party.

Banana Boats

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2006
What a trip down memory lane. We used to make these at Girl Scout camp only we tossed them into the fire for a minute or so. Fun (great for kids while camping!) and yummy.

Evil Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2006
These were good, in the way that any chocolate cookie is good, but they were nothing exceptional. In fact, regular old Toll House chocolate chip cookies are better in my opinion. Don't know if it was the hype of the other comments or what, but after expecting something phenomenal I was disappointed a bit.

My Amish Friend's Caramel Corn

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2006
One of the best sweet snacks I've ever eaten (and this is coming from someone who usually doesn't like sweets unless they involve chocolate!). Made this for Superbowl Sunday and our guests loved it. Tastes like Crunch-n-Munch. I used cashews in ours. It disappeared and I'm making another batch today (with Macadamia nuts). Fantastic and foolproof.

Four Cheese Macaroni

Delicious. Great comfort food. My husband, who doesn't even care for mac-n-cheese, loves this. Very rich and, of course, NOT a low-cal meal!
