The Best Meatballs

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2012
Thank you for the recipe! I made this last night and my husband's response was "These are the best meatballs I have ever eaten". I did use chopped fresh spinach as I didn't have the Italian flat leaf parsley and I baked them on a cake rack in the oven over a foil-lined cookie sheet. A tip if ground veal is hard to find, your grocery store may have "meatloaf mix", which is a beef, veal and pork mixture.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2011
Just wanted to thank you for sharing the recipe - been using it as my only apple pie recipe for ... not sure how long, but every time I make it - I'm floored at the amazing response. Only thing I do different from your recipe is that I add the "sugar and butter liquid” to the apples before adding the top crust – or lattice. I then coat the crust (lattice is what I’ve always used) with and egg and water mixture and then sprinkle cinnamon and sugar over that...and wa la –perfect pie. Thank you so much for your recipe. I made two pies this last weekend - one for my husband to take to work and one that I took to work.. yeah they lasted may a few minutes... :> Your Grandma Ople is surely proud of this recipe! Thank you!

Slow Cooker Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2007
I took some of the suggestions given in the reviews. I haven’t tried the original recipe posted, but because of the result, I’m giving 5 stars. I browned and seasoned the chops with a homemade seasoning given to me by my uncle and I also added chicken broth, a sliced onion, and added 2 sliced and peeled apples that I had on hand. I also sprinkled some brown sugar on top….It was amazing! My husband often teases me that I over cook pork chops and he just raved and raved about how good this dinner was. It made my day, especially since my husband is often right (I do tend to over cook pork chops)! This recipe and the feedback regarding the recipe were very helpful. The meat was so tender and the taste was fantastic. My girls don’t tend to like sauerkraut – but even though it was main part of the recipe they even gave it 5 stars! I cooked this on high for 4 hours and low for 2 hours. Thanks! Mari Beth
