Never had cubed steak this tender before! Was missing a little flavor, though...will try adding onions net time.

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2010
I love this because even though it was a little bit of investment for me to buy all the spices, it makes so much that it's WAY cheaper than the packets in the long run! Very tasty, too. I quadruple the recipe when I make it, and it just fits in an empty bullion jar.

Roasted Garlic Cauliflower

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2010
Wonderful! I left out the parsley because I just don't keep it on hand, and I didn't cook it any more after adding the parmesan. I've also made this recipe with broccoli instead of cauliflower many times, and it is a great side dish either way! Also, I usually slice the garlic rather than mincing, because I like the way it crisps up and makes crunchy garlic chips.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Have made this several times now and it is always a big hit. I never change a thing about it and it's always gone before the party's over! Using a cake mix makes it super easy, too.

Chocolate Coated Peanut Butter Crackers

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2008
I make these every Christmas and Halloween! I use a fairly big dollop of peanut butter right in the middle of the cracker and when I top it with the other cracker I smoosh them until the peanut butter is at the edges. I also use almond bark with a teaspoon of shortening. It microwaves great and the shortening makes it smooth and easy to dip. Another tip: Make sure that you get off every bit of excess chocolate or they will be sitting in a little puddle by the time they cool and won't be as attractive. One more thing: These are so easy to decorate! I always use holiday sprinkles, applied right after I dip them while the chocolate is still shiny. Alternatively, I put a little chocolate of a contrasting color (white chocolate if I dipped the cookies in milk chocolate, or vice versa) into a baggie and melt it in the microwave. Then I snip off just the barest corner and squeeze it back and forth over the cookies to make a nice pattern. OR I buy candy food coloring and turn the white almond bark whatever color I like! Hope these tips help someone!

Onion Rice

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2007
Oh my goodness, this was awesome! When the onion was nearly done I added 2 cloves of garlic, chopped. That was the only change I made. I will be trying the base recipe with other grains, as well! Definitely a keeper.

Outstanding recipe! My friends and family love it when I make this. I did leave out the coconut (don't like it) and I used pecans and walnuts for the topping. Fabulous!

Flax and Sunflower Seed Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2006
I have made this bread three times, once using butter as directed and twice substituting canola oil. It has come out perfect every time! I especially enjoy toasting the slices, as it really brings out the flavor in the seeds. I live alone and can't eat all the bread before it gets stale, so I slice up the loaf and freeze it in a big Ziploc bag, then heat the slices in my toaster oven as needed. Yum!!

I halved the recipe and used a loaf pan, and it still turned out perfectly. Very light and moist! Will make again and again. Oh, I also used instant coffee and it worked/tasted just fine.

Savory Bubble Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2002
Very good!! When my dough was done and I went to make the balls, it totally collapsed into a gooey pile, but I still dipped the wads in the butter, and then in my herbs and parm, and after I let it rise it looked like real dough again. In the end it was perfect!! Tasted great, my whole family loved it. Just don't worry if it looks like it flopped, it will come out OK in the end. WONDERFUL!! Thank you, Susanne!

Great Garlic Bread

Absolutely wonderful! The only change I made was using Italian seasoning in place of the parsley (I couldn't find dried parsley at my supermarket). Very flavorful and decadent. This recipe helped make my husband's birthday dinner special. Thank you!

Bob's Awesome Lasagna

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2002
Absolutely wonderful! I followed the suggestions to add more cottage cheese, and I also added the 1/2 cup of water to the sauce so I didn't boil the noodles.. I also covered the lasagna with aluminum foil for the last 20 minutes, because it had already gotten pretty brown. Perfect, and my husband loved his birthday dinner. Thanks, Bob!!
