2-Step Chicken 'n' Biscuits

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2009
Surprisingly this is very good. It was a great way to use up leftover chicken. Instead of cooking on the stove I combined the ingredients, put them in a casserole dish and baked for 15 minutes. I then put the biscuits on top and baked another 20 minutes. Delicious!

Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2009
I really enjoyed this soup. I also substituted 1% milk for the heavy cream. I didn’t care for the chicken but I think it had more to do with the fact that I used ice glazed frozen chicken. That type of chicken has a processed taste and we ended up taking it out. Next time I’ll omit the chicken all together.

Baked Ziti Supreme

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
This was quick and easy to prepare after work. Overall this is a pretty decent recipe that used ingredients I already had it the house. I added some garlic, Italian seasoning and crushed red pepper to suit my family's taste.

Chickpea Curry

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2009
This is delicious! I made half the recipe because I didn’t think my kids would like it. After eating their food, they devoured what was left of this dish. My daughter asked me to make it again tomorrow. I ate this with a salad and it made a filling meal. This will become a regular in our home.

Quick and Easy Pizza Crust

This is super easy and fun to make with my kids. The crust had a nice texture but I think I will follow the tips of other reviewers and add a few seasonings next time.

Slow Cooker Spare Ribs

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2009
I did so much cooking today that I didn’t feel like eating. My kids and husband didn’t have that problem. They raved about these ribs so much and said they are even better than the ones my father does on the grill. I finally did try a taste and they were pretty good. I followed one reviewer’s suggestion and I put them in the oven at 400 degrees to let them finish cooking for 20 minutes. This helped “dry” them out and made them less saucy.

Pretty good basic recipe but I did need to spice it up just a bit for my family. It turned out really good and will definitely be making it again.

Golden Sweet Cornbread

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2009
This is really good. I used just a little less sugar and added jalapeño pepper because that’s how my family likes it. Also substituted ¼ cup of butter flavored Crisco for the vegetable oil. This cornbread has a very nice texture and it taste great.

Libby's® Famous Pumpkin Pie

My ten year old daughter made this pie by herself; I took it out of the oven of course. It turned out really good and the blend of spices is just right.

Bacon for the Family or a Crowd

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2008
I think this is the best way to cook bacon, whether for a crowd or just a few. The bacon comes out crisp, no splattering and it takes very little time.

Original Nestle® Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2008
I have fond memories of baking these cookies with my older sister when I was a little girl and now I’m making memories with my own kids using this same recipe. This recipe has never failed and it’s the only one I’ll ever use for chocolate chip cookies.

Very good recipe. I wish I had read the other reviews first because it was too much oil. With less oil this would get 5 stars.

Beef Egg Rolls

This was a good recipe. Mine fell apart while cooking, I’m sure due to my error and not the recipe. Great taste but a little too time consuming for me.

Pumpkin Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
I did not care for this at all although I did like the creamy texture. I followed the directions exactly but I used fresh pumpkin puree and that could be the reason for the awful taste. I hate to waste food so I tried to salvage it by adding brown sugar and cinnamon. That made it edible but it still tasted bad.
