Cinnamon Rolls III

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2004
great recipe! I increased the butter in the filling to 1 cup. I also cut an apple into small chunks and added that to the filling. To reheat the rolls take a sheet of paper towel, wet it, ring out excess water, wrap roll in it, put it on a plate, and microwave for 15-30 seconds. Tastes like fresh out of the oven.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2006
Great!! I added 1 tea almond extract and 1 Tbl orange zest. When rolls are a day or two old and need to be "freshened up" take a moist paper towel, wrap around roll, microwave for 20 sec.

Grandma Johnson's Scones

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2013
My daughter made this recipe. This was the first time I've had scones I liked !!! Most are either too much like cake or too much like a cookie. She made the basic dough then added chocolate chips to some and lemon poppy seed to the rest. This dough freezes very well. This one is a keeper.

Perfect Turkey

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2008
I used this for Thanksgiving and it was the best turkey I've ever made. I was concerned that the turkey would be salty; but that wasn't the case.

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2013
I made this for a Fourth of July party. Everyone loved it. I couldn't believe how many compliments I got for Sloppy Joes. I make a batch and freeze it for a fast lunch or dinner My son-in-law is a hunter. My daughter uses ground venison in this. I don't like venison; but to my surprise it was very good.

Oranged Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
This is excellent Cranberry sauce. It's not too sweet; not too tart. It set up perfectly. I used the cinnamin sticks as a garnish.

Pierogi (Polish Dumplings)

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2008
These are the best!! Years ago I used to buy them from a church that made them every Saturday to raise money. Since I moved I've been looking for a recipe that had the same "Old World" taste. My search is over!! Make extras and freeze them for later.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
Great Recipe!!! I made a few changes to suit my taste. First I used 1 cup heavy cream instead of milk. It made the sauce creamery and thicker. I used 2 cups chicken broth instead of 1 3/4 and added 2 TBL cooking Sherry. I made these changes because many reviews complained of this recipe being alittle dry. I added 3 potatoes cut into cubes and pre cooked with the carrots and celery. I brushed egg white on the crust before baking and them every 20 minutes during baking. The crust was amazing.I prefer the pie crust recipe on the Crisco Shortening label. And best of all I used leftover Thanksgiving turkey.I baked it for 60 minutes at 350 and dinner was served and the leftover turkey was GONE!!!. Next time I make this I'm going to make small individual pie. Bake what I need for dinner and freeze the rest, uncooked, for later
