My favorite things to cook
Desserts Love raw cookie dough
My favorite family cooking traditions
Middle Eastern food Mom also made homemade cakes (she could actually do them from scratch) so dessert was special.
My cooking triumphs
Hmmmm...... Often I will do something a second time 'cause the first time I don't have a feel for it, hence never be too disappointed by a recipe, no matter how well written they are often tips of the ice berg of an intuitive tradition going back and back and back... maybe to the "big bang".
My cooking tragedies
First cake I made as a teen. Mom said for icing about 1/4 C Milk to 2 C Powdered sugar, and then the rest, like vanilla or some cocoa. I got it reversed, 2 C milk and 1/4 C powdered suger. I looked at the runny mess even after I poured the whole box of sugar in hoping for real icing, and was sitting crying when my big bother said here, and kind of poured it over the cake. It pooled at the bottom but harded over the cake and hey, we had a brother and sister team who invented a positive out of a negative.

Salsa Chicken
This is a keeper and I did try a reviewer's suggestion to shake chicken in bag with a packet of taco seasoning and pured salsa on bottom and top of chicken. Boneless and skinless that is cut open butterfly style cooks well in about 35 min. and over a few days in frig it makes an awesome "leftover."

Blue Cheese Dressing
This has a wonderful addictive flavor; I will make it a staple for my salad dressings.

Light Pimento Cheese
I used that process cheese food they have and added my own olives. I think it worked. But I never did like processed cheese so that is a prerequisite here. Good combo and great instructions though.
