Fruit Pizza I

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2011
YES!! The glaze puts this over the top, don't skip it. I didn't know if it would make it soggy so I went a little light on it, but I won't next time. My crust didn't get super soft till about 24 hrs later. I originally cut it after 8hrs. and the texture was still like a cookie.I drained the mandarin oranges in a sieve and they worked well with the other fruits. WINNER!!

Fabulous Wet Burritos

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2011
So that's how they do it!!! You could thin the sauce a little. I did not have the chili and my crew will only eat ground turkey anyway and it was still delicious, like going out! I threw in some corn to stretch it a bit. popped a beer and voila!

The Extreme Cherry Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2011
MISSING INGREDIENT!! This is a delicious cake. We've had the recipe for years! It is missing 1 cup milk though!!! And, you could add 1 tsp. almond extract for more cherry flavor! We frost if with a cherry frosting of butter, XXX, cherries and juice w/ almond extract

Moroccan Tagine

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2010
I too had to use sweet potatoes for the butternut squash because my store was out. It was quicker because the squash is so hard to peel. I served with quinoa for the added nutrition and it was DELICIOUS. I had to buy corriander and I think that really made the dish. Didn't know how good that herb is!!!did add a touch of cinnamon. Oh, and I'm not crazy about chick peas and almost left them out, glad I didn't. This is all around good stuff and good for you. Bet the leftovers will be even better! Liked the idea of someone adding dried apricots. Either way, try this! Just use a big pan!

Old Fashioned Pineapple Upside-Down Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2010
Oh Yeah!! This is not dry IF you sift as you measure the flour- instead of the other way around, as the recipe states. It is light and delicious. I used 1/2 Splenda in the batter and you couldn't tell, and I'm not a big Splenda fan. Even though I am a fan of almond, I thought the tsp. might be too much; nope! Oh,I did need to add 8 min. to cooking time, but I did use very low heat to melt my butter.

Halibut with Zesty Peach Salsa

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2010
WOW!!! This was my first time to try Halibut and that was a treat in itself! YUM! And, at 9.99 for a 6oz. portion (on sale at Publix) I really needed this to be amazing and it was! An amazing meal with NO GUILT!! I was excited to use perfect fresh Elberta peaches in the salsa and it was wonderful and made the dish very special- just as written- why mess with perfection!!

Old-Fashioned Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2009
OK, sounds like someone else had the exact same experience as I, on the same exact day!! As I (we)left it to cool, it got so hard in the saucepan, I couldn't do anything to get it out. I had checked my themometer for accuracy before starting (twice!) and actually followed the directions. I have no idea what happened. Unlike the other reviewer, what I could chip away and taste, was DELICIOUS, which made it even more disappointing.

Slow Cooker Turkey Breast

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2009
Perfect, Perfect, Perfect!!! My breast was 7.5 lbs and I had to snip the backbone a little so the lid would close. I also let it sit at room temp 20 min. before turning on the heat. No need for butter or oiling the top! Only dry soup mix I had was Savory Herb with Garlic. The meat pulls away from the bone easily like a rotisserie chicken. Pour some of the broth over to store. Yum, Yum!!I'm eating a left over sandwich now, so moist and tender!!

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

I was worried the salt was too much, but it handled it just fine. Did add 1/2 tsp. vanilla as well. The amount of levening really fluffs them up. Cheap!!

Christmas Stollen

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2007
For those saying they had a problem with yeast may have added it to too warm a liquid and killed it OR if you use Rapid Rise, it must be added to the dry ingredients like the package says. I love almond and the marzipan or almond filling works great and makes it even more wonderful. Different dried fruits can be used depending on your taste.

Pretzel Turtles

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2007
These are amazing! So easy and they look really nice, too! I topped half with another pretzel and half with a pecan half. I used small round pretzels but will use the square next time just to have more pretzel per bite. Everyone loved them!If your tired but need to take something somewhere, this is it!
