I have made this recipe as written and it is delicious. However, I've made a few changes over time to suit my own tastes. First, for those of you that think it is too thick or mayo tasting, replace half the mayo with sour cream. Thins it out and gives it a fresher taste. I also use a little more lemon juice and black pepper. Finally, I use peccorino romano in the actual dressing, but shave parmesan to garnish the lettuce. Everyone raves about it, including my salad hating six-year-old. She now loves salad if it has this dressing on it.
