Lamb Chops with Balsamic Reduction

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2006
I followed the recipe exactly. The lamb was perfect.I've never cooked lamb before and we all loved this recipe. We served it with scalloped potatoes. We took the sauce and added it to the potatoes as we ate the potatoes. So good!!

Tangy Mango Slaw

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2006
The combination of cabbage, mangos, and walnut was very good. The recipe called for too much dressing. I'm thinking of making the dressing a little different with something other than just vinegar. The dressing was a little tart.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2007
Very tasty. I cooked the chicken and vegetable in stock I had made earlier and keep frozen.I used this stock drained off the chicken and vegetables for the chicken stock called for with this recipe. Why throw it away? The pie turn out just right- very tasty and not saltly.

Real Homemade Tamales

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2007
I only eat Meican food, not cook it so I read the reviews first and follow many suggestions. They turn out great. I went to other web sites to get an idea how to fold the corn the husks. I went to a few stores to find the spredder mentioned in one review but couldn't find it. The valentine hot sauce is very cheap and very hot ( mentioned in early review) but this sauce will always be handy to speed the receipt up.

Spinach Salad II

Reviewed: May 12, 2007
I wouldn't add sugar to this recipe it is perfect as is. I the only problem I had was eating too much of it. If you shp at costco and get the mega bag of spinach what can you do with all of it? make this salad for your friends and family.

Mom's Oyster Stew

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2007
Simple easy and fast. I didn't have sherry wine. I took three oysters and put them in blender, blended them very fine and added them to the milk for a strong oyster taste. I didn't like to use two pots for this soup. My husband didn't mind washing an extra pot since he loved the soup.

Creamy Veggie Fondue

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2007
I heated chicken stock in the bottom of the pan before I added cheese. At the end of the cooking time. I added the milk, more stock and wine until I had the consistency I wanted. I have never made fondue before so I can't compare it with another recipe. This fondue was a hit at Christmas. I put tons of stuff on the table to go with it. Of course brread but also sauted veggy-meats. Oysters (cooked before) were the favorite with my family.

Marinated Grilled Shrimp

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2007
This the best recipe to date that I have made from all recipes. I love shrimp so that might be why. I made the grilled shrimp for Christmas dinner with my George Foreman Grill. And served the skewers placed over whole grain Rice-Roni. They looked beautiful together. Rice has a reddish color and the shrimp was reddish. It was only thing I served that went the faster with nothing left over. Don't change a thing!!!

Garlic Dill New Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2007
I followed the recipe exactly. And I didn't care for it. I didn't know from the direction if this was a cold salad or a hot salad. Since it had butter, I served it warm. I had a lot left over so I'm going to pan fry the left overs for lunch. I did love the steamed potato idea -the potatoes were just right after steaming for old fashion potato salad with eggs.I used the bamboo two level steamer which keep them cooking even.

Roasted Pear Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2007
This salad will not appeal to everyone but we raise hazelnuts in Oregon and roasted pear salads are very popular. This recipe needs spinach green and blue cheese. Poultry sliced thin is great too. Try it!!! I love it with spinach and strong favored cheese. Play with the vinegar-honey ratio. Know your eaters-some people hate too much of either one of these.
