I followed What a Dish!'s review suggestions and WOW! Considering this is my first attempt ever at homemade garlic bread, this was AMAZING! I used a sourdough baguette and some parmesan with the mozzarella. It was too good!

Fluffy Pancakes

Not the best tasting pancakes I've ever had, but boy are they easy! We all enjoyed them, but recipe only yielded about 5 pancakes, so if you are cooking for a group, double the recipe! I also omitted butter as another reviewer mentioned.

Easy Mashed Potato and Roasted Vegetable Enchiladas

For the time and effort invested, these are fantastic! I made all the veges the night before which made prep the next day super easy, although I forgot the broccoli, I will try to remember next time, I think it would be very good.

Slow Cooker Teriyaki Pork Tenderloin

I thought this was O.K., not really great value for money if you are cooking on a budget, you won't have much by way of leftovers. My husband thought the teriyaki flavour was overpowering, but I kind of thought that's how it would taste. Too much for my kids though, they would not eat it :(

Corned Beef and Cabbage I

This was delicious and super easy, even though it took a while to cook, I think I will try in the slow cooker next time. My beef did not come with a spice packet, so used seasonings from another Corned Beef and Cabbage recipe from this site, mainly apple cider vinegar, sugar, pepper, bay leaf, nutmeg and cloves. I think they were definately worth adding!

Vegan Red Lentil Soup

Excellent. I used sesame oil because I didn't have any peanut, sauteed cubed chicken thigh fillet before adding the rest, added extra ginger, tumeric and a potato. I also added 2 cups of chicken stock. 30 min was plenty of time, even with potato. I think you could add sweet potato, carrot, spinach, peas, anything really, will try something new next time!

Mom's Italian Beef Barley Soup

Only used 4 cups of water, large tin of diced tomatoes instead of tomato sauce. I added four chopped carrots and two sticks of celery, 2 bay leaves, garlic and Italian seasoning. It needed to cook longer than 5 hours to get texture right, closer to 8. Very nice. I think a bit of tomato paste would have been nice, but I forgot. Also might have been nice to add some peas at the end.

Pasta Bake

I almost never give 5 stars, but this dish is SO easy and delicious, everyone in the family loves it. I use fresh mushrooms, garlic, basil, spinach, and added some leftover sausage, as well as some seasoning to the sauce. I love a quick and easy meal!

House Fried Rice

This was a perfect base recipe! I used a package of frozen veges for colour and it presented well, and tasted amazing. I can't wait to try the left-overs! Very simple and easy to make, even my two year old daughter was able to help, much to her delight. I omitted the shrimp and chicken and didn't miss them. Thanks for sharing!
