3BC (Best Baked Bean Casserole)

Reviewed: May 28, 2011
I followed the tips from some of the reviews and instead of the bacon (didn't have any) I cut up a leftover bbq'd hamburger patty and threw that in, and topped it off with quartered pillsbury biscuits for the last 15 mins (turned the heat down to 375 for that). Awesome recipe and a great base for all sorts of add ins to be thrown in. Thank you!

Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

Awesome :D I used milk instead of yogurt, crumbled chocolate bar instead of choco chips, and I didn't even measure everything properly and they still came out fantastic!

Bacon Cheese Fries

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2011
My family will eat fast food french fries no problem, but when it comes to home baked there's always a bunch that gets thrown in the garbage. Thought I would try this and for the first time ever - no leftovers! I just added sour cream on top instead of dressing - tasted just like a perogy lol. Awesome recipe!

Spinach Brownies

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2010
Made these tonight to serve as appetizers tomorrow before dinner.... and I'm going to need handcuffs to stop myself from eating any more. This recipe is fantastic and I'm a spinach hater! I used one box of frozen spinach and followed everyone's advice: sauteed the onions, added the squeezed defrosted spinach to that for a while, lessened the butter, added real grated parmesan, garlic powder and pepper. I also beat the eggs before adding, not sure if that makes a difference. I will definately be making this again and again!

Easy Swedish Apple Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2010
I doubled this recipe but I only used 3 apples. Used margarine right out of the fridge too instead of melted butter, and mixed the soft dough with my hands. Was so easy and produced a perfect apple pie that does not stick! I will definately make this instead of ever buying an apple pie again. However, next time I will not put so much cinammon in the batter!!

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2010
I wanted this to be more salsa than salad so shredded the apples and mashed everything with a potato masher. I left out the sugar as per reviews and while it does taste fantastic, it could definately use some sugar haha.. The chips are awesome - I did the melted butter on one side, stacked and cut all 10 at once with a pizza cutter. Shook em in a bag with cinn/sugar ... was so easy and no mess... thanks for the tips! One thing I'll add bcuz I saw someone mentioned it, is you do not turn these chips over as they bake. Single layer, both sides crisp up perfectly. I had two foil lined sheets going so it was pretty steady :)

Twenty-Four Hour Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2009
LOVE IT!!! To simplify things I use a bagged salad instead of lettuce (love the colors), 1 can of peas (small sweet ones are best) instead of frozen, and chopped real bacon instead of bacon bits (fake bacon bits would totally ruin this recipe). I also add a few chopped hardboiled eggs. This salad is addicting and everyone asks for the recipe :)

Pork Chops and Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2008
I've made pork chops, potatoes and onions with chicken broth in the skillet before, so really thought this would turn out just as good but it was horrid. I followed the recipe exactly except I doubled the sauce and put the pork chops underneath everything to ensure they would stay moist. This meal was flavorless and dry. My kids would not eat this and my husband called the chops "sawdust". I'll never make chops in the oven again....

Stovetop Pork Chops and Potatoes

Yummy Honey Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2008
I wanted to make bbq'd chicken breasts and was just looking for a good marinade... not interested in kabobs. I did however have some chopped veggies that I also marinated in this mixture and then heated up in a skillet and served over rice. I used half the oil, and added pineapple juice and tidbits to the marinade. Was fantastic and my picky husband couldn't get enough of it! Next time I won't marinate the veggies so long though as they came out too dark, and I won't add the tidbits til cooking time.

Cream Cheese Squares

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2008
Used 1 pkg of cream cheese, 1/2 cup of sugar and 1 egg as suggested and WOW they were FANTASTIC! Tastes good warm, but exactly like cheesecake when cold from the fridge. No doubt you could add any typical cheesecake flavor to the filling (skor bits, turtles for example) and it would turn out great. I thought about putting some sort of fruit filling underneath the top layer but then every slice would taste the same. It's more versatile to just put whichever topping you prefer on top, because honestly these are great as is. FANTASTIC recipe! Thanks!!!

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2007
I make this recipe in a slow cooker and it is simply fantastic. I just put the chicken thighs in, cover with the sauce (exact recipe)and put it on low for at least 5 hours. The longer the chicken cooks the more savory the dish, and the chicken just falls apart (shreds) in the sauce. About an hour before I'm ready to serve I throw in some chopped green pepper, carrots, celery (or whatever vegetables I want to get rid of in the fridge), and then 20 minutes before serving I throw in a can of drained pineapple chunks. The pineapple removes the saltiness and the dish is perfect spooned over rice. Absolutely amazing! I find this recipe foolproof --today I tripled the sauce (made 20 thighs), dropped the bowl and lost most of the sauce all over myself and the floor (GOD what a mess!) and was too lazy to make more so just used whatever was left. It STILL came out perfect!! And if the sauce is too thin I just remove some from the crockpot, add a little cornstarch paste and/or Veloutine gravy thickener, microwave it till it boils and thickens and mix it back in with the rest. Too easy! Thank you for an unforgettable recipe that everyone loves!

Pork Chop Casserole III

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2007
After one hour in the oven the rice was totally uncooked as none of the soup mixture made it to the bottom. I had to remove the chops and stir everything, and put the chops back on top for another half hour. The end result was a hideous gray lumpy mess and the chops were dry as heck. The onion soup mix did not dissolve as expected either and those bites were hard to choke down. The rest of it did have a nice flavor but due to it's ugliness who wanted to bother. It was worth a shot but nobody liked it over here...

Easy Garlic Broiled Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2007
Fantastic recipe! I used a big pack of boneless skinless thighs (about 15), and doubled everything in the recipe but the butter. I then unravelled the thighs (too lazy to pound them thin), dipped them each in the marinade, placed them on a foil lined cookie sheet and dumped the rest of the marinade on top so I wouldn't have to bother basting. Then I sprinkled some extra spices on top (onion powder, pepper and Mrs. Dash table blend), stuck them in the oven on the second shelf from the top, and broiled on high. After 10 minutes I turned them (they were half cooked and still soaking up the marinade!) and threw on a can of button mushrooms for the last 10 minutes. I had a greased baking dish ready to transfer them to for when the "smokefest" started, but I didn't have any smoke at all! I also discovered that I didn't have any parsley but the chicken was fabulous regardless. Easy, quick and tasy. Everyone loved it. I will definately make this again!

Macaroon Bars

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2007
I was excited to make these but unfortunately disappointed with the end result. The entire can of dough did not fit in the pan so there were 2 triangles wasted. What came out of my oven did not look as appetizing as the picture shown, as the bottom layer of coconut did not adhere to the dough, so each bar fell apart while trying to remove them from the pan. These were a complete mess but they did taste good. I would not make this again.
