Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2008
My 1st review! I just had to comment on this recipe. I took these to a party and everyone thought they were store bought. They said it was better than Reese's cups! If only they knew how EASY it was... I used both regular and mini size muffin pans. I think the mini sized ones were cuter and better since they were so decadent. As other reviewers have stated, spraying some non-stick spray really helped. It's messy but totally worth it.

Spinach Dip with Water Chestnuts

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2009
I followed this recipe exactly and it turned out GREAT! I was taste testing it before bringing it to the Superbowl party and I ended up eating a lot of it on my own. I served it with Ritz- vegetable flavored crackers. The flavored cracker seemed to overpower the dip so I would go for plain Ritz crackers next time or just bread cubes. Definitely would make again!

Easy Lemon Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2009
I doubled the filling like everyone suggested. I struggled with the baking time though. I added in an extra 10 minutes of baking time because the cheesecake filling didn't seem to set (and the topping wasn't browned). It still didn't work. I took them out cause I was afraid the crust would get too dark. It became a little bit more firm when it cooled but it was a still a little jiggly. I'm not sure what happened. But it was still delicious!

No Bake Cheesecake I

Reviewed: May 11, 2010
I don't know what happened- I followed recommendations by adding in only 1 tbsp of lemon juice, adding in an extra bar of cream cheese, and adding in 1/2 cup of sour cream (instead of cream)... and it tasted really off. All I tasted was cream cheese and sour cream. So simple and somewhere I screwed it up!

Easy Cream Cheese Danish

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2010
I ate these 5 mins after they came out of the oven and they tasted great. The extra frosting drizzle took something away from the pastry I think. It lacked flavor I think. Anyhow, I ate the leftovers the next day and the crescent dough taste was really pronounced and I could barely taste the filling at all. I felt like I was just eating a roll. I would make it again for just the filling but will probably try the phyllo dough as others have suggested.

Tiny Tarts

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2010
I thought these were pretty good. The filling was tasty- I probably overbaked it b/c the filling was sort of hard (probably should've been much gooier and sticky). I didn't care for the crust- lacked any flavor and it was way too crumbly. It was too much work. I prefer a crust that's more substantial.

Dawn's Easy Red Velvet Sandwich Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2012
Made these yesterday for a potluck with RAVED reviews. One friend who doesn't eat much literally scarfed 3 of these within 5 mins. I reduced the powered sugar for the icing to 2 cups b/c the red velvet cookies themselves were plenty sweet. I agree that walnut sized dough balls were probably a little bit large although no one seemed to complain! I put less of the filling in the cookies (they weren't fluffy or as pretty as the picture on the recipe). I wonder if anyone has actually mixed the nuts inside the icing so it makes the filling mixture look taller inbetween the cookies. Will definitely make again!!!

Spinach Balls

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2014
My spinach balls were too moist and tasted heavy with butter. I first measured out my stuffing to 2 cups BEFORE crushing them so I might have had too little stuffing to soak up the butter. Still delicious however. Served it with marinara sauce. Added 2 teaspoons of chili flakes b/c I like things hot.

Chocolate Crinkles II

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2014
This is my bf's favorite cookie and he was craving it really bad while overseas. Luckily the weather was pretty cool and the travel time was only 2 weeks so I took the chance of shipping it off to him. I have never tried or made a crinkle before so had no idea what it was supposed to taste like (aside from being chocolate-y). I only made half the amount and got almost the full 3 dozen out of it. However they were tiny and very round (puffy)- not flat like in all of the pictures. The directions didn't say if I should flatten it after rolling it into a ball. Still, maybe that's just common knowledge and I missed it. But it still tasted great. I might even like it better this way because it has a very moist center. My bf claimed they were delicious and ruined his diet. Best compliment ever!

Peanut Butter Crispies II

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2014
YUM! I'm a huge peanut butter fan so I added in an extra 1/4 cup of PB. I topped it off with 1/4 cup of peanut butter chips and about 1/2 cup of chocolate chips after they came out of the oven. They had a hard time sticking onto the top so I ended up smoothing it out w/ a spatula.

Spinach Artichoke Feta Ball

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2014
Left out the ranch dressing mix as suggested. Also used a mixture of parmesan and cheddar cheese instead of feta only because it's what I had in the fridge. Rolled the entire ball in crushed walnuts. Served it with Ritz crackers. DELICIOUS!

Grandma Gudgel's Black Bottom Cupcakes

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2014
I made these for a potluck and no one fought for the leftovers. I was a bit bummed. They weren't bad but as some of the reviewers have stated- they weren't really wowing. I upped the cocoa and used coffee to make it more chocolate-y but it wasn't that great. I even put a chocolate ganache on top.
