Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream

I made this tonight with a few alterations just to lower the fat content. While the bowties were boiling, I cooked my sausage in a separate skillet while I sauteed onion, green pepper & garlic in olive oil in a larger one. I then added a carton of imported plum tomatoes and a tsp of italian seasoning to the veggies. After the sauce reduced for about 10min, I then added the drained sausage and red pepper flakes. Last I added 8 oz of half & half and about 1/4 of grated parmesan. Cooked it until the sauce thickened and Oh my, so yummy !! Not too terribly hot but the red pepper flakes definitely added a zing. I will definitely keep this recipe handy for a "go to" alternative to spaghetti with meat sauce. Great recipe easy and delicious. Thanks!
