Whipped Cream Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2004
This has got to be the best cream cheese icing I have ever tried! It is perfect! I already have the recipe memorized, and will use it over and over again. Be sure to freeze your bowl and beaters for the whipped cream, it makes all the difference.

Apple Stuffed Chicken Breast

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2004
This recipe was pretty good. I did read some of the other reviews and salt and peppered the chicken before rolling it up with the apple mixture. I used chicken broth instead of water, and I also chopped up a little bit more apple and added it with the wine and broth to make a "chunky gravy". Not as pretty a dish as I wanted it to be, but overall very tasty!

Double Layer Pumpkin Cheesecake

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2004
This was a great cheesecake recipe! I drizzled caramel ice cream topping in the bottom of the crust before I put the first layer of cheesecake in. It baked up perfect and added a praline taste to the perfect pumpkin flavor. Great recipe for fall. Will make over and over. This one is going in the recipe book I use all the time. I did use pumpkin pie spice, and it was just the perfect combination. Plan on making this one for Thanksgiving at my mother's. Thanks Stephanie!

Christmas Breakfast Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2004
Very tasty and easy to make! I did not have mustard powder on hand so I used a teaspoon of regular yellow mustard and it was just the right flavor. I took this casserole to my in-laws when they were moving and it was great to just put in the oven and forget it until it was done. Has a great aroma while cooking! Will become a staple casserole in my home, especially around the holidays! Thanks M. K.!

Cheesy Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2004
This recipe is a fantastic staple! It's going in the permanent recipe book at home. I doubled the recipe (using half sour cream and half miracle whip light, as suggested by other reviews) and it came out great. Thanks Annette!

Tomato Chicken Parmesan

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2004
Pretty good chicken parmesan recipe. I added a dash or two of garlic salt and oregano while browning chicken. Good staple recipe. I made cheese garlic biscuits to go with this dish, YUM!!! Will make again soon! Thanks Alicia!

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2005
OK, I had to come back and give this recipe 5 stars. I left the review below after the 1st time I made these, but I have made them about a dozen times since then and they are fantastic. Forget what I said before. A Million stars for this recipe. Love them!!!!! These rolls were great. The dough was just a tad not sweet enough, but I have a pretty good sweet tooth. My husband loved them and took the batch to work with him. This was actually the first recipe I tried in my new bread machine, and I'll make them again for sure. Thanks for a great recipe Marsha! I followed the directions exactly and they turned out perfect. Hardly any work at all. I love technology!

Pa Pa's Chess Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2005
This does not taste like chess pie at all. It is a very good custard pie, and they brown up beautifully with the beaten egg whites mixed in, but I was a little dissapointed. Probably won't make again, but if you like custard pie, go for it. Thanks Liz.

Best Bread Machine Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2005
This was pretty good. I don't know if it was my bread machine, but even though I set the crust on "Light," I had a really dark and thick crust. Also, it was stale almost from taking it out of the machine. It had good flavor and texture inside, but I think I'll look for a different recipe to make all the time. Thanks for the recipe, Karen.

Creamy Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2005
Very good frosting! Only downfall is that it doesn't make very much, but I couldn't stop eating it, so that's probably why! lol! Anyway, will probably use all the time, very good and easy. I frosted a boxed butter recipe cake in a 9x13 pan and it got rave reviews. Thanks Tracy

Portuguese Sweet Bread I

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2006
This was an OK bread. Like other reviewers, the crust did get a little too hard and brown at the end, but the inside was a great texture and flavor. My infant son likes that part! I will continue to play with this recipe, but I am still looking for a staple white bread recipe for my bread machine.

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2006
Fantastic crust recipe. This is about the 4th or 5th pizza crust recipe from this site I have tried and it is by far the best. I just made it for the first time, and OHHHH MAN!!!! I used 1/3 of the dough and put it in my cast iron pan and made cheesesticks out of it and used the remaining 2/3 dough to make my pizza. Just pulled the cheesesticks out and it just melts in your mouth! YUMMY! Staple Friday night recipe from now on. Thank you soooo much! I did dust both pizza pans with a little cornmeal to add texture to the bottom of the crust.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2006
Pretty good cookie. Only 4 stars, just a little on the cake-like side. However, VERY GOOD cookie dough to eat by itself. lol. My husband is the ultimate judge of cookies, he's the original cookie monster! I will make again, maybe change up the pudding flavors as other reviewers have suggested. Peanut butter would be great! I'm still looking for the ultimate chocolate chip cookie though. Thanks!

Sausage Cornbread Bake

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2006
This is a pretty good weeknight dinner recipe. It did taste like a brunch dish and was a little too crumbly to take "on the go," but overall, very tasty. It was missing a spice or something though. My husband ate it with salsa, maybe that was it. I did add a 1/2 tsp. cayenne because we like spicy sausage dishes, and it was a nice combination with the other flavors. I will make again and maybe add a little garlic powder??? Thanks!

Famous Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2006
This was not a very tasty recipe at all. It was extremely greasy in the pan, and the breading did not have much flavor and I even added a little italian seasoning. The crumbs never got crisp. It was just a big soggy mess. I followed the recipe exactly, but I still could have screwed it up somehow. Thanks for the recipe anyway. I will continue looking for a good basic pork chop recipe.

Strawberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2006
Very good basic muffin recipe. I made the sugar 3/4 cup and it made it the perfect sweetness. You could add just about any fruit to this and it would be great. Next time I might add a little cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice or a struesel topping, but the recipe doesn't have to have it to be good. Thanks for the recipe Katie!

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2006
This is a very good banana bread. Mine came out a little dry, I might have baked it for a couple minutes too long. I did bake it for an hour though, so I might back down five minutes or so the next time. I was a little concerned when I mixed it up, it was very dry for banana bread mix, but it came out almost perfect! I will use again. Thanks!

Ultimate Double Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2006
These cookies are hard to handle! They deserve 5 stars on flavor and texture, but man did I have a time baking them. I didn't have parchment paper, so I just used my baking stone. They did not turn out well at all. They never did get done on the bottom or spread out. So, I put the dough in the fridge and I went to get parchment paper. BIG MISTAKE! This dough is TERRIBLE to deal with when it is cold. Make sure it is always at ROOM TEMPERATURE or else you will never get them spooned out without making a huge mess. Other than all that drama, very good cookie. My husband (aka, the COOKIE MONSTER) gave them a 5, but they were a 4 for me just for all the trouble. They did turn out perfect with the parchment paper. I will make again. Thanks for the good recipe.

Basic Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2006
Fabulous! Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because it does need a little flour when you are rolling it out between the parchment paper (which worked beautifully once I added the extra little bit of flour). I used this recipe to top a chicken pot pie and brushed a beaten egg with a little cream on top and it came out with a beautiful golden, flaky, melt-in-your-mouth texture. I will use again and again. You could probably add a tablespoon or so of sugar and make this a dessert crust too. Thank you so much for this great recipe Stephanie!!!!

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2006
BREAK OUT THE MILK!!!!! This is the absolute best cookie recipe on this website. Melt-in-your-mouth. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. My husband is going to die when he eats these. I have the last batch in the oven and they are fantastic. They do need about 9 minutes to firm up just right, and it helps when baking cookies that the eggs you use are at room temperature. This one is going in the FRONT of the Dessert recipe album. A zillion stars. Love you Mrs. Siggs!!!
