Coconut Ambrosia Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2009
I've been making Ambrosia for 30 years, but instead of whipped topping, I use sour cream. It's much better and not as sweet.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2009
Tastes too much like a boxed cake mix. Would be much better made from scratch.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2008
This chicken recipe is really good. I had no idea I could make teriyaki sauce. I did increase the garlic and decrease the ginger, because I am not really fond of ginger. I would recommend that you use a disposable pan or line your pan with aluminum foil. The sauce is very sticky and makes clean up difficult.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2008
Here on the East Coast, muffins are BIG. I doubled the recipe and made eight muffins. The topping should be made with brown sugar instead of white. Still it was an ordinary muffin, nothing to write home about.

Apple Strudel Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2008
Made as recipe stated, but did add more apples. Used red delicious and jonamac for flavor. These muffins had no taste at all. Will not make again.

Cream Cheese Squares

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2008
I made these exactly as written the first time and they were delicious. However, my favorite ingredient with cream cheese is pineapple, so the next time I made this, I put a layer of pineapple preserves on the first layer of dough with the cream cheese on top of the pineapple and the dough on top. Really, really good!

Very good marinara sauce. Easy recipe and ingredients can be changed based on personal taste. I added more garlic!

Singapore Noodles

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2008
Very good recipe. Easy to make and ingredients can be altered based on what is in the refrigerator. Plus you can make it as hot as you want by altering the amount of curry added.

Healing Cabbage Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2007
Prepared as written, the soup was very bland. After reading the reviews, I added thyme, basil and red pepper flakes and the soup improved tremendously!

Best Tuna Casserole

CANNED MUSHROOMS!!! Never. That's like adding sliced pieces of rubber. Saute FRESH mushrooms in a little olive oil or butter, then add. Much, much, better.

Cha Cha's White Chicken Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2007
Excellent chili as written. After reading reviews, I pureed one can of beans in my food processor to make it thicker. That was the only change I made.

I followed the recipe with two exceptions. I added two cloves of crushed garlic and 1/4 cup of sherry. The soup was wonderful!

Lentil and Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2006
I added two pounds of hot Italian sausage and used beef broth instead of chicken broth. A wonderful soup for a chilly fall evening.

Italian Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2006
I always prepare a recipe exactly as written the first time and then make changes on subsequent preparations. This needs no changes, although other vegetables or pasta or rice can be added to it. It is excellent!

This was absolutely wonderful. The chicken was delicious without the coating usually found on the Chinese restaurant variety.

Old Bay® Shrimp Fest

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2005
Very easy to make, but tastes good only if you like everything to taste the same. It would have been better to cook each ingredient separately and just cook the shrimp in the Old Bay.
