I'm 22 years old currently living with my boyfriend of 3 years in Philadelphia.On my free time I love baking,I love the smell,the taste and the whole experience. Presentation is my favorite part.I always worry if my cooking or baking will come out good but the reassurance from the people eating it tells me it's great which makes me want to cook even more.
My favorite things to cook
Tres Leches,Butter cream frosting,Pumpkin cakes,pumpkin anything,cookies,fried chicken,roasted potato's,beef stew,green beans,alfredo sauce,meatloaf,meatballs
My favorite family cooking traditions
I was always one to help in the kitchen.I always liked making the side dishes because those always seemed to be the part of the course people liked and I wanted to be the one who could proudly say that I was responsible for that dish,greatest feeling ever.
My cooking triumphs
I remember in cooking school,it was the last day and everyone had their families come for the graduation and we had to make something. I chose to make a cheesecake with strawberry topping and clam chowder as an appetizer.I remember this one kid and i never got along and stayed away from eachother,he was making a crab soup.He went to make it and messed up the recipes and it over boiled and it was such a big mess.He tasted my chowder and asked if I would be ok re making his crab soup for him and I felt honored and took the task,I showed him everything I was doing and the soup came out great.
My cooking tragedies
One time in school,the teacher had an "open fridge day" where he would give us 3 ingridents and we had to make a meal with it,kind of like chopped.So mine were white onions,a slab of beef,and mustard.I did beef skewers which came out really good but I wanted to be risky so on the side I tried making this onion sauce to tip the beef in and let me tell you,it was horrible.Nothing but a bitter onion taste.I sure learned my lesson lol

Smothered Chicken Breasts
This was great, only thing I changed was the bacon concept. I cooked it then chopped it into bits instead of laying the whole piece on top. I also sprinkled the onions, bacon, then cheese on the chicken and broiled it for 2 minutes so the cheese was melted and kept all the toppings together. Everyone loved it
