Tomato Basil Soup

Canning!! Why didn't I think of that???? Midwife Jen, I think, suggested that and take her advice and mine. Double, triple or quadruple the recipe and can it. You'll love it on those cold rainy evenings, like tonight. I paired it up with an upscale grilled cheese. Now I'm fat, dumb and happy! Excellent soup and I'm just not a soup lover so these five stars are definitely worthy of this one! Thanks for a great recipe Sara!

Asparagus Cashew Rice Pilaf

Easy and pretty on the plate. I love recipes like this, they're so classy paired up with a nice steak. I made a beef tenderloin with it and it was worthy of a 4 star restaurant. Very good!!

Mexican Sour Cream Rice

Great rice dish! My daughter's favorite!! She's at that age where I can do nothing right anyway but this rice makes me a heroine. I might throw in some other ingredients from time to time if I don't have everything. I've used cheddar and gouda and pepper jack, too. I swear to god, I could lace this with strychnine and it would still be the favorite at every meal!!

Classic Restaurant Caesar Salad

A salad to die for. I no longer have to go to a nice restaurant to get a table-side made Caesar Salad. I can now do it myself and it tastes wonderful!! Hey wait... I still like going to a nice restaurant. No one tell my secret!! Thanks for the recipe Sarah!!

Cajun Baked French Fries

After laying the potatoes on the baking sheet, I noticed I should've sprayed it. The fries I was able to scrape off were excellent! This is my new go to for fries!! Just spray your pan!!

Guacamole

Rockin' out some pretty awesome guac there Bob!! I've always liked my own but I thought I'd give AR a shot and see what y'all got going. I wasn't disappointed. This recipe is very much like mine. I don't get to bothered with the quantities, I just kinda piled all the ingredients in and voilá, we got some tasty guac to throw some chips in. Thanks Bob! As is, this recipe for guac is perfectamundo!

As others suggested, definitely a higher heat and a longer cook time. But the recipe? Good god I love pig!! Coat it in sugar and well... I'm just hoping there's a 12 step group to get me through this binge!!

Jay's Jerk Chicken

I read the reviews on this before this started. I still went by the recipe and loved it!! No, I've never been to Jamaica and couldn't speak intelligently on what they do there when they cook. However, if I changed the recipe on my own and then judged, I certainly wouldn't leave a comment on that. The recipe is great!! Whether it's true Jamaicain or not, I don't give a flyin happy rat's a... patootie. Really? No, I judge on the recipe presented. And Kibada22, it freakin rocks!! Way to go!! Me and my family loved it!! Disregard the comments of the dopes who think they know how to improve and then judge you on their mistakes. That boggles my mind how people could be so rude. From my point of view, you nailed it!!

Tropical Island Baked Beans

Awesome beans!! Next time, I wanna try letting them simmer for a bit with a ham hock and add bacon, get that smokey goodness in there, too. But my family and I completely enjoyed them as the recipe was written. Nummy goodness!!

Southwestern Pasta Salad

I went completely by the recipe this time, just to know what it was. And wow!! Def a taste of the SW! Fully diggin on it! Even my daughter, the spice wuss, enjoyed it! That's a rave review in itself! Now, after reading what some of you other chefs have done, I'm anxious to try all those things, too. Ya, it'll be awhile of BBQ's before this one gets old! Way to go! You nailed a great pasta salad!!

Chicken Chimichangas with Green Sauce

You nailed it, Bobbi!! Way to go!! I've actually made it a couple times and I change nothing. OK, I eyeball the amounts and I might substitute a type of cheese, depending on what's on hand. Oh and I fry the chicken with garlic and onions and incorporate that into the filling it,and coat it with flour and taco seasoning. That's it, the rest is all you and it rocks!! I always add at least 6 more chimis to the list of ingredients because they freeze great! I don't put the sauce over the top of the ones I freeze, of course. But they go together so fast, there's no reason not to do another ten and have them around for afternoon snacks. But every time I made these, I do a fist pump and scream, "I nailed this one!" Thanks a bunch!!

Fresh Sweet Corn Fritters

Well, I blew the recipe and they were a bit soggy but that's fully on me. Behind the damage I did, I could taste how great they would've been!! On top of soggy on the inside, they were burnt on the outside... and were still great!! I will do these again because I'm sure done right, they're little chunks of corny heaven!!

Chicken Salad Puffs II

Cajun Seafood Pasta

Great recipe!! I enjoy heat but I'm not a mouthburning lover, so I eased up a bit on the peppers. It was still hot but enjoyable to my taste buds. I didn't thicken the sauce because first time out I wanted to honor the recipe. And I thought it was perfect. I wouldn't add flour to it at all. I'm not sure what people think this sauce is but it's perfectly fine. Actually, way better than fine. It's Cajun culinary magic!! Thanks, Star, for reminding me that I need to get my cajun butt back to N'awlins!

Mindy's Macaroni Salad

This is a great starter salad!! I used Miracle Whip as the dressing. In retrospect, I'd cut the sugar in half because the MW is so sweet to begin with. I added some stuff to it, like Monterey Jack and cheddar cheese. I think I added something else but for the life of me, I can't remember what. Oh well, like I said, it's a great starter because you can empty your pantry into it and it tastes great!! Way to go Timsgal, you rocked out a great mac salad!!

Best Baked French Fries

Gotta be honest, I'm just not a big fan of baked fries but not having mastered the art of deep frying, this is my default home fry. These are pretty freakin good, I must say!! I do spice them up a bit but other than that, these are perfect!

Simple Strawberry Syrup

Heavenly!! I use this with the fruit that looks best in the market, that day. Today it was peaches. I made it with strawberries and was very pleased, so the stretch to different fruits was an easy reach. This is a great starter syrup and can be taken in several wonderful directions. Thanks Daniel for making my pancakes a little bit better.
