Southern as You Can Get Collard Greens

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2010
Amazing. This was my first time tasting or making collard greens, so I can't attest to the authenticity. The flavor was soooo good I had 3 helpings.

This really was wonderful! I was very generous with the lemon and added bacon. Mmmmm!!! Made extra for work tomorrow.

Strawberry Cobbler I

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2008
I made this once before and remembered that it was a little too sweet. Another review suggested lemon juice. PERFECT! It gave it a slightly tart and sweet taste. Oh man this was to die for. I also made the crust with milk instead of cream, like another reviewer suggested. Very good!

Darra's Famous Tuna Waldorf Salad Sandwich Filling

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2008
Wow, what a pleasant change. I really enjoyed this and so did my husband. I didn't have sweet relish, so I chopped up some dill pickles and used pecans instead of walnuts (its what I had on hand). What a yummy yummy sammitch.

Turkey Pot Pie I

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2007
Very tasty. My husband loved it. I didn't feel it was necessary to cook the meat and veggies in a separate pot since I was using leftovers. It was a real time saver. I also added pie crust to make it a little more savory.

Daria's Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2007
I've made this twice now. Once I followed exact and the 2nd time I altered it. The first time was fantastic. The 2nd time was good as well, but I didn't have mushrooms or cream of mushroom. I used cream of potato instead and just increased the bullion to compensate for the lack of flavor from not having the right ingredients. This recipe is extremely adaptable and very forgiving.

My Mother-in-Law's Cheese Sauce...ssshh Don't Tell Her

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2007
This was great. I hate American Cheese so I used some Tillamook Sharp Cheddar. Mmmmm. My husband said it was like having my grandma's Mac n Cheese. Thats the best compliment he's ever given my cooking. Thanks for sharing the secret recipe!

Baked Potato Soup V

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2007
We really enjoyed this recipe. I changed a few things by adapting it to a crock pot. I slow cooked the potatoes in chicken broth for a couple of hours with the bacon and onions. Close to serving I added the cheddar and sour cream. YUM! We loved it.

Easy Peach Cobbler II

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2007
Oh my god!!! This is so good. It turned out super watery, so I had to drain some of the liquid off. I drained it while it was hot and bubbly still, so it reduced down to the perfect gooeyness that I wanted. I had some obstacles! All my fault, though. I started making this before I saw our 1 week old loaf of bread had already gone moldy. I ended up using hamburger buns. Yes, hamburger buns. They were egg buns so they were really sweet and I can't imagine it a different way. I also accidentally added too much flour. The lid fell off! I added some vanilla extract and cinnamon. If all of this went wrong for me and it was still fantastic, you should try it!

Blooming Onion and Dipping Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2007
Very tasty. We liked it. I messed up ad added the amount of Cayanne for the batter into the SAUCE. Woops. I added some bleu cheese dressing to calm it down.. waaaay down. Also, I heeded the advice of others and just cut it into rings. If you do cut it into rings, be sure to either double your batter amount or do not double dip the rings. I ran out of batter since the wetness was mixing with the flour too much. I also addedd a tad of Guiness to the milk and egg mixture. Thank you for sharing it!

Rosemary Braised Lamb Shanks

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2007
This was my first time cooking lamb and only my second time eating it. It was delicious. It was incredibly easy as well. I followed another reviewers advice about not being shy about turning the high heat up in the last 20 mins to reduce the sauce. Delicious. I didn't have stewed tomatoes so I used some roasted garlic pasta sauce and it was great. Highly recommend it.

Delicious. This is the closest I have found to the incredible taco shack around the corner from my house. It is to die for. I served it with the Quinoa with Black Beans recipe from this site. What a killer combo. You must try it! Mmmm.

Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2007
I brought some to school and they were gone in a couple of minutes. I had to bring the recipe the very next day for several of my friends. GREAT change from the classic sugar cookie. I undercooked them a little so they wouldn't be hard.

Albondigas

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2007
I used half beef and half pork for the meatballs. OH MAN. My favorite soup. My husband brought it to work and a couple of his co workers asked for some. Very, very delicious. I added a bit of hot sauce to it because I'm used to it being pretty spicy at my fav restaurants. Thanks!

Coffee Marinated Steak

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2007
This made the meat nice and tender, but the coffee was a bit overwhelming. My husband had no idea that there was coffee in it, though, so it may just be a preference. I enjoyed the change. Thank you!

Veggie Egg Scramble

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2007
This was pretty good. Next time I will reduce the amount of wine because the eggs came out watery. I cooked the eggs through as I normally would, but the liquid would not evaporate. I was worried if I kept trying the eggs would just dry out. Unique, tasty. Thanks!

Grilled Salmon I

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2007
This was delicious. We had fallen in a rut of always doing Salmon with Irish Butter Sauce, so this was a very healthful alternative. I could only marinate it for an hour, so I made efforts to baste the salmon in its own juices while cooking. I baked it first and then finished it off under the broiler for that beautiful crust. We loved it. Will make many more times.
