I used the original recipe as a great basis, but as I read other reviews most thought there was too much sugar. I cut it down to 1/4 but used Splenda for baking instead. I also substituted apple sauce for the butter, and replaced 1/3 of the cranberries with walnuts. I I was just as satisfied... doing this only cuts down the calories by approximately 25%. Also, I made them into 2x3 inch bars, so it made 16 bars... around 140 calories a bar, so I could have them as a snack instead. I also used soy milk instead of dairy milk. Over all, very tasty, a recipe to keep. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because of the quantity of sugar. Had I made it with the original measurements, it would have been way too sweet. I might even cut down on the sugar a little more next time. Thanks for sharing!
