Chocolate Cupcakes with Caramel Frosting

At first when they came out and I tasted them, I already noticed that they weren't very good. They don't taste like a traditional chocolate cupcake if that is what you are trying to find. Then I made the frosting. It seemed like it wasn't going to work out, and then it did. The frosting tastes very good, however, it is not fluffy or light enough. When I tried to put it on the cupcake, as a result of the lack of egg (which should hold it together) and the stiffness of the frosting, the cupcakes fell apart. I don't plan on using this recipe again.

Cracked Sugar Cookies

Very delicious! I have made them for 2 events and they turned out great each time. If I were to change one thing though, it would be to take them out of the oven just 1 or 2 minutes earlier, but they are great either way!

Chocolate Chunk Mandel Bread

I have made this many times now and everytime it turns out fantastically and my cousins really like it. If I were to change the recipe, I would put lemon juice in (in addition or instead of the orange juice) and I would put more chocolate chips into it. It cuts very well in between the two bakes and it is really easy to make.

Nany's White Cake

I was making this for a small party and I was mildly disappointed. I first made one batch of it and it didn't rise enough and it stuck to the pan a little bit. HOWEVER, it tastes very good. It has a good flavor and texture. I wound up making a second batch of it because if I didn't it would only be 1 inch tall. For the second batch, I put a bit more grease in the pan and I used 2.5 teaspoons of baking powder instead of just 2 and it rose more and worked a ton better.

Caroline's Chocolate Fudge Frosting

I just made this recipe and it was inadequate. I followed what many of the reviews said about using less milk and it still had a viscosity very close to that of water and it was too sweet. I added a bit of corn starch and also used cocoa powder (instead of melted chocolate.) I plan on piping on top of it and that is not going to work very well. It now tastes fine, but that was after I improvised when I realized I needed more. I would not use this recipe again.
