About this Cook
I was raised in Atlanta, DeKalb County, Ga. I started cooking & sewing at the age of 8. Mom didn't like baking so that's what I took up, I can bake anything. I grew up riding horses, singing in the church & school choirs, I am also a certified P.A.D.I. SCUBA diver since July, 1977.
My favorite things to cook
I love to make fudge and some of my specialties of cookie bars & other items. I make a mean French Buche' De Noel too!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Well, my mom cooked & canned strictly southern cooking. That consisted of cornbread, grits, ham, southern fried chicken, biscuits, candies, cookies, etc.
My cooking triumphs
Was the day when I taught myself how to do Marzipan at age 18, when I made my first Quiche & my famous French Buche' DeNoel Mocha no cake Yule Log! I was also very pleased with my very first delicious batch of Fabulous Fudge made with of course the Marshmallow cream! I was also pleased with myself when I made my first loaf of home made bread from scratch where the yeast had to actually rise & I had to actually knead the bread dough! So much fun!
My cooking tragedies
My biggest fiasco would have to be the time I made 2 Quiches & forgot to use the heavy whipping cream & instead used the 1/2 & 1/2! NEVER do that! It just didn't set up, real runny, not so funny! Had to throw them out, inedible!

Cranberry Orange Bread
I made these as 4 mini loaves and they were a tad bit dry but they are delish when you warm them in the microwave with a pat of butter! Yummy!
