Manhattan Style Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2006
I agree with RCKim ... WAY too tomatoey. I followed her advice and added 1 can of chicken broth and 1 cup of water. I also added tons more celery and used fresh onion instead of onion powder. After a little fiddling with it turns out to be a super soup!!

Szechwan Shrimp

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2005
This recipe is fantastic!! NOT ketchupy at all. The sauce is very similar to the sauce served at my favorite Hibachi restaurant!! It makes your whole house smell awesome. My father and hubby went wild over this and can't wait until I make it again. Two thumbs up!!

This recipe is very good ... however I did make a few changes. 1st I used 2 cans of chicken broth and 1 can of veggie broth to replace some of the water. 2nd I did not totally mash the potatoes just smashed them up till chunky. It was very easy to make and is really yummy!! THANKS FOR THE RECIPE!!

The Best Chicken Soup Ever

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2005
This soup is worthy of its name!! It is SO good and very easy to make. The only changes that I made were to use split chicken breasts (with bone in) and I left out the celery .. didn't have any. I used some celery seed and followed the rest of the recipe exactly. Excellent!! Thanks!!

Cavatelli and Broccoli

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2005
Great dinner. I added the red pepper flakes to the garlic and EVOO. It did need about 3/4 cup of chicken broth added to give it enough liquid for the pasta. My husband loved it and can't wait to take the leftovers for lunch.

Very good ... takes a while but basically easy to make. I used Campbell's 98% fat free cream of chicken soup and reduced fat Bisquik. Makes for a no guilt comfort food dinner. :) Thanks

Lima Bean Pasta

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2005
This was one of the BEST pasta dishes that I have had in a long time. It is VERY easy to make and is done in the time it takes to boil pasta. If I could have given it 10 stars I would have. Even my 2 and 4 year old sons ate it and they do not like any veggies. Yummy!!!!

Turkey Empanadas Grande

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2005
What a mess!! I had the WORST time with the pie crusts. When I put all of the filling in and tried to fold it the fold side completely broke open. I was even careful to not put it in hot. When I tried to fix it I realized that the entire bottom had reduced to a pile of mush. I ended up putting what was left of the filling in a pie dish and covering with the remaining crust. It tasted OK but not worth me ever attempting again.

Russian Cabbage Borscht

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2005
This is pretty good and very easy to make. It is a little too sweet for my tastes. I think maybe because of the honey and sweet veggies. It needs a little kick. Overall - not bad for my 1st attempt at making borscht.

Ham Croquettes

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2005
These are very good. I have never had ham croquettes before so I really have nothing to compare them to but they were super easy to make and yummy. I used the some left-overs form a spiral ham that I had made and just chopped it up. It worked very well and is a nice change from ham and eggs again!! :o) The only other change was to use fresh garlic. Thanks for a yummy new dinner idea!!

Pasta with Grilled Shrimp and Pineapple Salsa

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2005
Loved this recipe .... with some changes. First of all I completely left out the pasta. I don't see any reason for it. Secondly, I did not grill the shrimp but as another reviewer advised sauteed it with some EVOO, garlic and about 1/4 cup of the juice from the salsa (there is a lot so it won't affect the taste of the salsa at all). Then served the shrimp with the salsa to top it off. It turned out absolutely fantastic!! ;O) Definately a keeper!!
