Sesame Green Bean Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2009
OK so I am torn on how to rate this recipe. It has LOTS of potential but as written it is just 3 stars. IMO ~ It definately needs crushed red pepper, fresh minced ginger and fresh minced garlic. I also think it is a little too much oil so next time I will cut back a little. With these changes and some fresh chopped green onions to top it off it is a KILLER 5 star recipe. Thanks for the post!!

Andrea's Pasta Fagioli

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2009
Very Good soup. My 7 year old son made this by himself with the exception of some onion chopping help. Super easy to make and I usually have the ingredients. We used fresh basil since we had it on hand and home-made tomato sauce from last nights dinner. Otherwise followed exactly. Next time I might add some spinach or kale and a little more garlic. Thanks for the post. My son is really proud of himself!!

Very Good - It was very different than what we were used to but the fresh ingredients and unusual spice combo made it a fun new dinner for the family.

Lebanese-Style Red Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2009
KILLER SOUP!!!! I love this. It is completely simple to make and the taste is amazing. A tiny bit too hot for my heat wimpy hubby but that is easy to fix for next time. My only change was to add about 4 stalks of celery to the onion and garlic sautee. Love this ~ Thank you!!!!!

Scalloped Cabbage with Fennel and Cranberries

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2009
Good Recipe. Not an all time favorite but good in a pinch and very easy to make. I used real cranberries instead of dried. I do think it is missing something but I can't think of what it would be. I look forward to seeing what other reviewers add to make it their own.

A Keeper!! Really makes life so much easier for holiday meal prep. Start it 3-4 hours prior to dinner and forget about it. I had a lot of compliments. Thank you!!

Peanut Butter 'n' Jelly Pie

V-E-R-Y Sweet!!!!! Even my 5 and 7 yr old didn't finish their slices. The 1st few bites are really good BUT then sugar shock sets in and you can't eat another bite of it.

Monkey Bread I

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2008
I made this for my Bunco party. It was such a huge hit. Actually it didn't even make it to the dessert table. The girls were picking at it all night and sadly by the time dessert came around the monkey bread was gone and nobody had room for any of the other desserts. =] Everyone went home with the recipe!! Thanks for the post!!

Cranberry, Apple, and Fresh Ginger Chutney

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2008
Really, Really Good!! BUT... I think it works best as a cranberry sauce. I was looking for an actual chutney to serve as an appetizer and this was a little too over the top alone. I DO think it will be great with Thanksgiving dinner & I will definately on making it again!! UPDATE: OK so my bad!! It really does need to sit over night to chill and firm up a little. Next day = 5 Stars!! YUM-O

Banana Chai Bread

Very Good Banana Bread. Not much of a Chai taste at all, though. I might try it with instant Chai latte (powdered, you can get it at Starbucks). Thanks for the inspiration!! =]

Black Bean, Sausage, and Sweet Potato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2008
Okay ... so I'm not that impressed with this. At first I thought it was really bad. I went back to the reviews and noted that 1 member suggested adding cajun spices so I tried that and it helped. (enough for us it eat it for dinner) It took about an hour to cook the beans and that is WITH soaking them over night. Sorry but the look is really bad and the taste is just OK.

Eggplant Tomato Bake

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2008
I liked this but IMO there is something missing. I did add fresh grated Romano cheese and lots of herbs and garlic. Still something not perfect about it yet. I will definately make again because the potential is there for this to be a FABULOUS ( and low fat ) meal. Thanks for the post!!

New England Dinner

Reviewed: May 16, 2008
I can't really figure out why so many people left low ratings. There are no spices in the recipe so if you don't like bland food ...... spice it up!!!! I left out the taters and added carrots, onions, fresh thyme and 3 cloves of chopped garlic. I also replaced the water with veggie broth. A SUPER EASY AND YUMMY DINNER!! BTW - we cooked 45 min and it was perfect. Thanks!
