About this Cook
I'm a teenager who has loved to cook (but mostly bake)since I was 5. My first memory of making anything was in kindergarten when my grandmother and I made gingersnaps and brought them to school. Since then, my parents haven't gotten me out of the kitchen.
My favorite things to cook
I love baklava, fudge, frosting and cakes, cookies, meringue, ice cream, custards, rosemary lamb, mashed potatoes, salad dressings, and anything Christmas or Thanksgiving.

Empanadas Fritas de Queso
I was an exchange student in Chile this year, these are exactly like the empanadas my nana made! They brought back great memories and did not disappoint :) I don't think they sell queso mantecoso in the US so I used mozzarella cut into chunks which was great. I fried the empanadas...my little brother said it was the best meal he'd ever had!

Crackle Top Fudge Sauce
WOW! Contrary to the other reviewers, this was great, and much easier/convienent than going to the story and paying a lot more money than it's worth for it. I did change the recipe to what I had: instead of cream, I used milk, and I used chocolate chips only instead of a baking square with it (I added 1T chocolate chips for each square.) THANKS SO MUCH! My little brothers loved it.

Fabulous Pesto Pasta Salad
I can't even imagine what this tastes like with all of the premium ingredients. My local deli makes this, and I had to give it a try! I used a LOT of substituting and it turned out great anyways. Almonds (I blanched and toasted) for pine nuts, White wine vinegar mixed with red wine for red wine vinegar, dried basil from over the summer for the fresh, mostly dried herbs except for the cilantro, and the part I find funniest: string mozzerella for lunch boxes that I grated!! This was wonderful, will def. make again.
