Best Cream Of Broccoli Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2006
I really liked this recipe, but we prefer to have chunks so we pureed only a portion of the vegetables. Add some cheese soup to the mix for extra flavo and richness!

Pear Pie I

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2006
This recipe is superb! I was surprised that my picky husband, and unofficial apple pie critic, enjoyed this so much. It was gone the next day. The lemon adds a most wonderful flavor--I even added some zest for extra zip. Yum! Why people are so nuts about apple pie is beyond my comprehension, for we now feel that pear pie is superior in every way! Thanks for the recipe!!

Gourmet Mushroom Risotto

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2006
I am giving five stars even though I made some alterations, as I'm sure the result would have been just as spectacular the original way. I used 1 full cup of sherry and 5 cups of beef broth in leiu of the white wine and chick. broth. I substituted scallions for the shallots and added 3 cloves sliced garlic. My entire family loved it including my 9 and 4 year old! Thanks!!

Italian Style Meatloaf I

Reviewed: May 26, 2006
This is a good recipe. You can really mold this one into whatever you like--it is pretty fool proof. For instance, I make mine without the tomatoes and cheese, but with a bit more garlic and it comes out great. Our favorite meatloaf!

Creamy Rice Pudding

Reviewed: May 7, 2006
After a few months of cooking what everybody else wants, I will treat myself to warm rice pudding. (No one else here likes rice!) This recipe, by far, is the best that I have tried yet. It makes a very comforting and rich rice pudding. I would suggest, however that you use only half the sugar--you could add more individually if you like. Also, do temper your egg before adding so you won't get scrambly bits. Excellent recipe.

Japanese Shrimp Sauce II

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2006
I only used this recipe as a guide to what kind of ingredients to use for a shrimp sauce. I used cayenne pepper instead of hot sauce. I did not add any water what-so-ever, and I substituted the sugar for honey. Add garlic powder and black pepper to taste. Yummy! Not runny at all. We prefer this to the sauce we get at Japanese resturants, mainly because we can give it some more kick with that cayenne pepper. Thanks for the excellent recipe guide!

Manicotti

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2005
Good recipe, but I needed to make modifications for the second time around. I omitted the eggs, since they seemed to make the cheese sauce too runny. Instead, I used 1/2 cup of Italian bread crumbs. Also, I used 1 tablespoon of parsely and 16 ounces of mozzerella cheese. (Throw in some garlic powder too!) Yum. The cheese mixture was almost too easy to stuff into the pasta and came out very delicious. Hint: Add 1/4 of sour cream to your cheese mixture if it seems too dry before stuffing. Enjoy!! Thanks for the start of a great recipe Anny!

Orange Cream Milk Punch

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2005
This was very good for my son's third birthday party--the children drank it up fast! I would, however, recommend that one lets the sherbet and ice cream thaw at least an hour before adding it to the punch. This makes for less lumps and easy blending.

Beef, Burgundy Style

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2005
This dish was enjoyed greatly by my family--including young children. The only thing I changed was a minor substitution: Instead of cooking the mushrooms in butter, I opted for a tablespoon or two of more burgundy wine. This dish, nonetheless, was fantastic!

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2005
Thank you a lot! This recipe will be prepared at my home at least twice a month. . .we like it a lot! I made a couple of changes--mostly from personal tastes. I added one clove of minced garlic, and only put 2oz of cream cheese in this recipe. I also added more onions than the recipe called for, but mainly because I am an onion lover. I highly reccomend this recipe to anyone. If someone who doesn't care too much for beef like me thinks it's great, then I'm sure all of the beef lovers out there will absolutely love this one!

Sherry Apple Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2005
The flavors this dish offers are fantastic. . .especially the sherry. I, however, will slow cook this recipe next time to ensure the pork's tenderness. Give this one a try!
