About this Cook
When I was growing up, I stayed in the kitchen with my mother and my grandmother. My mother remained reluctant to change recipes or experiment, but my grandmother was different. My grandmother, (Korean), is an amazing cook. The first dishes I learned to cook were traditional Korean dishes that I still make today for my family. Once I started a family, my cooking skills were at test. After a few years, my knowledge and passion for cooking increased. Now I frequent allrecipes.com daily, learn new tricks, and experiment much. Every month I create a new family favorite that my family enjoys. After whipping together great food, I am left with time for my studies! (Biology)

My cooking triumphs
My kids were complaining about their beef stroganoff one evening. (They were trying to get out of having to eat dinner so they could play.) I pulled out some kebob skewers, and let them put their meat and quatered mushrooms on. After they ate, they asked for more!
My cooking tragedies
While experimenting with a butternut squash dish, I obviously did something wrong. My family wouldn't eat it so we had to call take-out. They always bring that memory back up when I am in the kitchen saying, "Hey guys! We are going to do something different tonight!"

Best Cream Of Broccoli Soup
I really liked this recipe, but we prefer to have chunks so we pureed only a portion of the vegetables. Add some cheese soup to the mix for extra flavo and richness!

Pear Pie I
This recipe is superb! I was surprised that my picky husband, and unofficial apple pie critic, enjoyed this so much. It was gone the next day. The lemon adds a most wonderful flavor--I even added some zest for extra zip. Yum! Why people are so nuts about apple pie is beyond my comprehension, for we now feel that pear pie is superior in every way! Thanks for the recipe!!

Gourmet Mushroom Risotto
I am giving five stars even though I made some alterations, as I'm sure the result would have been just as spectacular the original way. I used 1 full cup of sherry and 5 cups of beef broth in leiu of the white wine and chick. broth. I substituted scallions for the shallots and added 3 cloves sliced garlic. My entire family loved it including my 9 and 4 year old! Thanks!!
