Cheater Pot Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
This is a good recipe. Simple to make and very tasty. I used premade pie crusts instead of the biscuits. I added poultry seasoning, a dash of dried onions and fine diced celery to the veggie/chicken mix. I used cream of chx and cream of celery soup - use the low sodium versions otherwise it's very salty.

Spinach Tomato Tortellini

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2009
Wow! Quick, tasty, beautiful presentation, I will make this again soon. The only thing I added was a dash or two of red pepper flakes for a little heat. Next time I will add chicken to boost it up a little and add more garlic. This recipe is a winner - which of course is why over 15,000 have saved it.

Chocolate Trifle

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2008
Delicious! I made the original recipe as posted, everyone loved it! I made the same recipe but layered cherry pie filling and used cheesecake pudding in place of vanilla, I also added chopped walnuts to the layers, it turned out like a black forest trifle. Love it! Thank you for sharing this recipe.

Pickled Red Beet Eggs

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2008
Excellent recipe, just enough tart and sweet combined. I quadrupled the amounts and made a huge batch of beets. I highly recommend this recipe to beet lovers. I made a second batch and added a bay leaf and a dash of cloves for a little added flavor but the recipe is fine without it.

Tuna Noodle Casserole from Scratch

Reviewed: Feb. 29, 2008
I enjoyed making this, I didn't have tuna but had canned all-white chicken from Costco, it worked great! I plan to make it with tuna next time because the hubby likes a good tuna casserole. For those that shy away from making a white sauce from scratch, you can use the packaged ones by Schilling, etc. This was quick comfort food at its' best.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2008
Wonderful and easy recipe! I had to make adjustments because of what I had on hand but it still turned out tasty. I only had cheesecake pudding on hand so I used that instead of the chocolate pudding, I had mini chocolate chips but only had one cup so I made do with that amount, the cake was moist, not overly chocolate flavored because of the cheesecake pudding and the mini chips were found throughout the bundt cake, probably because they're lighter in weight than the regular sized chips. I used the Chocolate Ganache recipe from this website and used orange extract to flavor it, the cake disappeared in minutes. Thank you for sharing this receipe, it's awesome!!!!

Chocolate Ganache

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2008
WOW! I needed a quick recipe for a chocolate bundt cake and stumbled on this one... OMG, it was simple, tasty and quick to make... I added orange extract instead of the recommended rum extract, it was DELICIOUS, I'm anxious to try other flavored extracts.

Enchiladas - New Mexico Style

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2008
These are like the ones my Mom made when I was growing up (I'm from Southwest Texas,) we had access to dried chilies to make fresh enchilada sauce but I've found the canned sauce is a good substitute if you can't use fresh. These are easy to modify as well, I've made them using black beans for the chicken and meat as well. The fried egg makes them delicious! Thank you for sharing your recipe.

Chicken and Corn Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2008
While trying to decide what to make for dinner tomorrow night I asked my hubby for input, his reply "make another pot of the chicken chili and corn, it was great". So, there you have it, no more taco soup or chili for us for a while, the chicken chili is now in regular rotation in our house. Thanks for sharing a great recipe. Try it with black beans, it's super too.

Vinegar and Egg Crust

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2008
I was leery of the crust ingrediets, I worried over nothing, the crust on my pies have to be, hands down, the best I've had, they browned beautifully and were so flaky. I found the crust a little difficult to handle, it tore easily but patching didn't hurt it a bit. This crust recipe is well worth the effort, I won't bother with other crust recipes again.

Cranberry Orange Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2007
The recipe didn't specify what type of cranberries; fresh or dried, I used fresh, the bread itself was very flavorful but the fresh cranberries made the bread extremely tart, everyone ate the bread but picked out the cranberries. I plan to make this again using dried cranberries. I also plan to chop the mandarin orange segments to make it less chunky. I baked mine in a bundt pan and dusted it with powdered sugar.

Monkey Bread I

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2007
Quick and tasty. I made this recipe with the help of Squeaker (our 2 year old granddaughter, she helped cut the biscuits with a plastic knife.) It was easy, delicious and fun to make. The only thing missing was the powdered sugar frosting which we'll add the next time. We plan to use the recipe for years to come. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Colleen's Potato Crescent Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2007
Excellent. I too did not put it in the fridge as other reviewers suggested and let the dough rise in a warm spot before forming the dough into crescents, I was shocked at how quick and easy this recipe is to use. The rolls rose beautifully and tasted good. I decreased the sugar to 1/3 as others had recommended. Great recipe.
