Jezebel Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2011
We just didn't care for the flavor; it was okay, but wouldn't make again. Try it and see what you think; it makes a lot; we might have odd tastebuds!

Arkansas Sin

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2011
I had great expectations, but this just wasn't popular at our recent parent's night. I'll admit that I baked it in a pretty dish instead of in a bread bowl; maybe that's the difference. Sorry if my review lowers the rating; it was too rich, IMHO.

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2011
Pretty good; I used 2 pkgs of regular sized button mushrooms, and next time, I'll halve the recipe; I had a lot of filling left over. Tastes great and guests loved them!

Hot Chocolate Mix II

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2011
Kids (12, 10) loved this! They even added some to cold milk! I reduced the recipe t0 5 servings so we could try it before making a larger batch. It's a keeper!

Poblano Chile Pepper Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2011
I was looking for a clone of a recipe I had at Guadalajara Restaurant in Houston, but this wasn't it. It was bland, despite adding seasonings as suggested by other reviewers. Thanks for the post, but I probably won't make it again.

Fast and Friendly Meatballs

These really live up to their name, without the guilt! I've made these many times and am just now rating, but they're a keeper in my recipe box.

Anna's Amazing Easy Pleasy Meatballs over Buttered Noodles

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2011
Keeper! I halved the recipe, and used cream of celery in place of the onion soup; also added 1 tbsp Italian seasonings, and served over wide egg noodles. So far, the half-recipe has served a family of 4 once, and again for 2 more servings (kids away!), and plenty left. I boiled a 12oz bag of wide egg noodles for half this recipe, turned out perfect.

I thought this was really good; unfortunately, nobody else did. I'll make it again for myself!

Cajun Chicken and Sausage Gumbo

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2011
Made this tonight; KEEPER!! I searched for a cajun/jambalaya/gumbo recipe without tomatoes; this was a little greasy, but tasty. Five stars, but use plain rice, because rice from a mix will be too salty.

Lemon Broccoli Pasta

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2011
Pretty good; glad I had ingredients on hand. I put some alfredo sauce from a jar on mine and stirred in shredded chicken to make it a little heartier. Would make again.

Sweet and Sour Dipping Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
This came out much thinner than I wanted, so I added another teaspoon of corn starch to a teaspoon of cold water, stirred in and let simmer for 4-6 minutes. Perfect, and I LOVE that it wasn't bright red! Update Jan. 1, 2011: started with 2 tsp corn starch, used seasoned rice wine vinegar, 3/4 tsp canola oil and 1/4 tsp sesame oil, no salt, and left everything else the same, and it was awesome. 5-star keeper!

Refried Beans Without the Refry

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2010
These are delicious, just like the ones my favorite Tex-Mex restaurant makes (except they add some bacon grease somehow...). Highly recommended! You can make this overnight if you keep the slow cooker on "low." Happy cooking!

Sweet Potato Oranges

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2010
These are lovely! I served them Christmas Eve alongside pork roast and green beans. Only problem was stirring the brown sugar into the melted butter; it separated (maybe I had the heat too high?). It was difficult to spread on the mashed sweet potatoes, but the presentation was beautiful and they tasted great. Note: if you cut too much off the bottom of your orange, and a hole appears when you remove the fruit, just wrap the bottom of the orange half in a little foil, then place it in the water bath. Keeper!

Italian Stuffed Pork Loin with Olive Relish

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2010
This was okay; we love olives and muffalettas, but the Italian dressing marinade was a little much for our tastes. Thanks for the post.

Chicken El Dermie Le Hermie

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2010
I spray the chicken legs with coconut oil spray (Pam works too), then sprinkle with AR's Creole Seasoning Blend. I have a jumbo portion of drumsticks, so we'll have some tonight, then I'll refrigerate the leftovers for an easy beach luncheon. I've used this recipe for years, and my kids love it! (they're now 13 & 15)
