I have a Culinary degree but never been interested in the restaurant BOH scene...soooo I still work in restaurants but face to face with the people...I just moved to Boston, MA. and I am always looking for new recipes, and making new recipes!
My favorite things to cook
My favorite cuisines are Asian, and Spanish. I love spicy, so a lot of cayenne, and fresh jalapeno. I am a garlic fiend. A serious fan of ginger, and a lover of red wine.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family cooking traditions are know as "wing it nights". My father passed when I was younger, and my mom was never a cook. So dinner we always had to "wing it" and find what we were eating! Thats when I got the bug to cook my own meal...I started cooking for my entire family at the age of 10...sooo traditions aren't all there..Meatloaf night, and Stoffer's Lasagna night happened once a week..so I guess those are traditions!
My cooking triumphs
Well, I don't like to toot my own horn...but hell, everyone, else in the culinary world does! I have won several awards(not James Beard) of course...but throughout high school and college I participated in many competitions and came out on top...I also recieved several scholarships to help out with my education and Johnson & Wales University.
My cooking tragedies
It just happened the other night, I had a few to many glasses of wine and I was making banana nut bread...I switched up the salt and sugar...lets just say, it wasn't all that edible. Some dishes I have made to spicy to eat, and some dishes I have forgotten about and burnt..we all have our flaws every now and than...they are all learning lessons!
