Gumbo Style Chicken Creole

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2008
I thought this recipe was great. I, too, omitted mushrooms...just didn't seem right for the recipe. I didn't have Worcestershire Sauce, so I just used three tsp of soy sauce and I added Creole seasoning. My husband had thirds. It was a bit spicy for the kids, but because I served it over rice, it was tolerable. I will make this again...especially on a cold winter day.

Dave's Mocha Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2008
I thought this recipe was great! I didn't have sherry so I used marsala wine and I also added a little bit of honey (2 TBsp). I thought it was great. I took some sauce from the pan for my kids to "dip" it in and they loved it! Next time I might try using boneless skinless breasts so it doesn't give us sticky fingers.

Black-Eyed Pea and Bacon Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
I liked this recipe and so did my husband. I let it simmer for about 30 minutes longer so that it would thicken. I used a little more salt and added Tony Cachero's cajun seasoning to give it just a little kick. Very easy and it went over well.

Broccoli Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2005
I love alfredo and so does my family. Without the cream, the taste just wasn't Alfredo. It was one of those dishes where the first bite was ok but as I kept eating,it wasn't.

Baked Brie in Puff Pastry

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2005
Rather then use the almonds, I went for olive oil and basil. I made it for a wine tasting party and it got RAVE reviews. One person even called and wanted the recipe. I, personally thought it was good but not great. Of course, any cheese goes good with wine.

Broiled Shrimp Scampi

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2005
This is the scampi recipe I used -- not the other 12 here on allrecipes. I omitted the wine and doubled the garlic. We went nuts over it. I served it with fettuccine alfredo and spinach sauteed in butter. MMM...AWESOME!

Kalua Pig in a Slow Cooker

I make this at least once a week. My husband and I eat it like on the islands. My kids put barbque sauce on it and put it on a bun. We all love it.

Slow Cooker Western Omelet

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2004
This recipe was good but definately needed some tweaking. I did not put hash browns or ham in. I browned a pound of sausage, added the onions, green peppers, eggs and milk and put them all int the slow cooker. In the morning when it was done, I sprinkled the cheese on top. We loved it.

Cream Cheese Pie

This cheesecake was awesome! I put half of the filling in, sprinkled chocolate chips and then put the remaining filling in over the chocolate chips. It was sooooooo good! Thanks for a great recipe that's sooo simple to make!

Strawberry Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2004
This was great. You have to cook it ALOT longer than stated in the recipe or else the inside is mushy. My kids liked it -- even my daughter who's not a big fan of strawberries.

Oyster Sauce Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2004
It was ok. My kids normally like "sweet" marinade, but they weren't too fond of it. My husband didn't like it either, so I doubt I make it again. I thought it was good and easy.

Cabbage and Kielbasa

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2004
I followed the recipe except I used regular cabbage instead of savoy cabbage. You have to cook the cabbage a little longer, but gave it more of a kraut taste. Husband loved it.
