Molasses Crinkles

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2004
I just made these for Christmas and they are delicious! They are flavorful and chewy, and look great with their cracked tops and sparkling sugar. The only thing I did differently was using butter instead of shortening. Yum! I will definitely make these again!

Anna's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2004
I made these cookies because my name is Anna. They turned out great- I made about 50 of them for a party and the plate was empty startlingly soon! I'm still searching for a recipe that makes slightly less cakey cookies, but this is my favorite so far. I prefer it to the Award Winning recipe w/ pudding.

Mostaccioli with Spinach and Feta

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2004
I made this recipe for my dad's birthday and my family loved it! Very simple but the spinach and feta really add something. I love the way the feta sort of melts into the sauce a little- it wasn't as overpowering as I expected. This has become one of my family's staples.

Spinach and Strawberry Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2004
Very good. I added some almonds. The dressing was waaaay too oily for my taste though, even when I slightly reduced the amount of oil. I'll use less oil and sugar next time, but the combination of flavors w/ the spinach, almonds, strawberries and dressing was great!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2004
Whenever I make these cookies everyone loves them. They are pretty much fool proof, and stay soft even after a day or two. They have a nice vanilla flavor, too. I just wish they were a little more crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, rather than cake-like. But still quite yummy!

Easy Hamantaschen

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2004
This recipe was a disaster. I followed it exactly, but ended up with dough that was sticky but thick, and refused to roll flat. Every time I cut out a circular piece it would shrink up. The cookies would not stay closed. The cookies tasted ok when baked, but they were messy and ugly and on the bland side. =(

Strawberry-Rhubarb Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2004
This pie was great! Very simple and easy, but really delicious, a perfect balance of flavors. When I rolled out the dough, the edges were messy, but once I folded them onto the pie, it looked really good. I also used a little less cardamom, and I also didn't brush as much as 2 TBS butter on the crust- I just brushed on a very light layer. I will definitely make this recipe again!
