Mom's Country Gravy

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2011
DELICIOUS as is! I chose to add sausage to it and served it with biscuits. I do agree with the person who said to use butter instead of oil. You could even use bacon drippings, but again... delicious as is.

Quick, easy, delicious! Did not have mustard powder, so I just omitted it. Husband loved it - will make again.

Basic Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2011
Easy, idiot-proof, basic. There is no reason this recipe should not have 5 stars. It is what it says. If you're looking to add wheat or more flavor, experiment, but this recipe is good as is.

Mock Coconut Pie (Spaghetti Squash Pie)

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2010
Okay, so this recipe was FANTABULOUS! Why not 5 stars?? Because imho it tastes nothing like coconut pie, nor does it have the texture of it. It could be I cooked the squash too long, but still - tastes nothing like coconut. With that being said, it tastes soo mouthwateringly delicious! It has a unique flavor of it's own. Better than pumpkin I think. And I will make this recipe again, and serve it as Spaghetti Squash Pie. My husband loved it, and it disappeared fast at a party I took it to. Great recipe! Needs a new name though. ;-)

Minnesota Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2010
I'm sure this would have been better than 5 stars had I followed the recipe exactly. I did not have wild rice, so I used regular white rice, and I did not have mushrooms, so I added peas. I used the cream of fungus soup, followed the directions to brown the chops, but added a little paprika for flavor and color. Delicious! Even my 3-year old ate it. Will use this recipe again. Thanks!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2010
I've made this with and without the ham, and it came out great each time. Easy and delicious, using basic ingredients, and an affordable meal served with salad and/or dinner rolls. YUMMY!

Belle's Hamburger Buns

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2010
My husband is picky when it comes to hamburger and/or hotdog buns... He LOVED it! And I loved it too. The dough was easy to work with, and the rolls were crisp outside and fluffy inside. *drool*

Great as is! The chicken does truly come out of the oven crispy on the outside, and moist and delicious on the inside. Will use this recipe again.

Orange Chocolate Chip Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2010
Very tasty! I do reccommend however that you use the "mini" chocolate chips, and not the regular/normal sized chocolate chips. I used the latter, and they were too big - next time I will use the miniature ones. Other tha that - Fantastic recipe!

Best Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2010
I have made this several times now. Absolutely delicious!!! I have made the original recipe, and also tweeked it according to my family's taste or the lack of ingredients in the pantry. This recipe is very forgiving if you are missing peas or canned, sliced mushrooms, try chopped celery. A friend of mine hates anything with mushroom, so I will use cream of celery instead, etc... Also, I enjoy using the Sour Cream & Onion flavored potato chips to sprinkle on top. Next time I will use French's Cheddar Fried Onions. Yummmy!

Cinnamon-Orange Swirl Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2009
Is the recipe supposed to call for 10 tablespoons OR 1/2 cup of sugar!? The ingredients say one thing and he instructions say another. I ended up using 1/2 cup, and I have been cooking it for almost 40 minutes now, and the center is still uncooked. I hope this hasn't been a complete waste of time and ingredients!!!

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2009
These pancakes were so easy to make. They are idiot-proof. Simple, fluffy and delicious! I can't understand the people who rated this poorly. Perhaos it was an error on their part, because I followed the recipe exactly, and mine came out perfect! I will definitely continue to use this recipe. **Also, how can people alter the recipe without making the original and then proceed to give it a negative review is beyond me!

Stained Glass Window Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2007
I don't know what I did wrong, but when the candy melted, it seeped underneath the sugar cookie, and bubbled up. The center cutout shrunk and the shape deformed. I was trying to make them heartshaped, and the center heart ended up looking like a blob instead. I followed the directions exactly!! And I ended up throwig an entire batch of cookies away. So I'm sorry for giving a bad review and sounding bitter, but this was just awful!!

Grilled Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2007
Wow! I have been making these since I was a kid... Glad to see that other's are enjoying it as well! *If anyone wants to experiment... you can also make these in a flour tortilla, and make a pb&j "quesadilla". Just be sure to leave room around the edges, so it won't seep out while cooking. ;o)

Absolute Mexican Cornbread

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2007
If you don't have creamed corn... which was my problem.... simply use regular canned corn, and blend it in the blender, BUT make sure you drain some of the water/juice from the can, and add a little bit of milk if it is too thick.

Simple Potato Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2007
I love this recipe, as does my husband who is not a big potato fan. Just one problem - and it's probably just my dumb luck, but I had to cook my potatoes for nearly an hour! And even then they were still to crunchy and not soft enough for a salad. :oP I don't want mashed potates, but I hate crunchy potato salads!
