I am a wife and a stay-at-home mommy. I am a CA girl, always! Though I live in UT now... UT is beautiful, but I crave for the diversity of my home-state! I miss my family and friends there very much! I am pretty happy with where my life has taken me so far. And I love my husband and son very much! They are my everything! ~xoxo~
My favorite things to cook
Breakfast: I make delicious (and fattening) French Toast! Lunch: If you want a meat and cheese sandwich, don't come to me... It takes me about 15 minutes to create a perfect, hearty sandwich with all the fixings, and about 5 minutes to eat it. Dagwood would be proud! :oD
My favorite family cooking traditions
I am Hispanic, so I like to add a spicy kick to almost every dish I make. Watch Out-I have the habit of making very spicy dishes when I'm angry. If you can't stand the heat, don't tick-off the cook! ;o)
My cooking triumphs
I am becoming more comfortable in the kitchen, and getting more creative with meals, thanks to my husband. I am best at making breakfast, lunch and some desserts. I also love making appetizers, side dishes, pizza, casseroles, and dinner rolls.
My cooking tragedies
When it comes to making dinner... I am sometimes a little hesitant. I have the tendency to over-cook some meat because of the paranoia of not cooking it enough. Also, I have a difficult time rolling out dough for pastries or tortillas. Perhaps the hubby is right and I'm just too picky! I need to get out of my comfort zone... :oS

Mom's Country Gravy
DELICIOUS as is! I chose to add sausage to it and served it with biscuits. I do agree with the person who said to use butter instead of oil. You could even use bacon drippings, but again... delicious as is.

Ground Beef Stroganoff
Quick, easy, delicious! Did not have mustard powder, so I just omitted it. Husband loved it - will make again.

Mock Coconut Pie (Spaghetti Squash Pie)
Okay, so this recipe was FANTABULOUS! Why not 5 stars?? Because imho it tastes nothing like coconut pie, nor does it have the texture of it. It could be I cooked the squash too long, but still - tastes nothing like coconut. With that being said, it tastes soo mouthwateringly delicious! It has a unique flavor of it's own. Better than pumpkin I think. And I will make this recipe again, and serve it as Spaghetti Squash Pie. My husband loved it, and it disappeared fast at a party I took it to. Great recipe! Needs a new name though. ;-)
