Brown Sugar Smokies
I make these in a different way. I use hot dogs instead of little smokies. I cut the bacon in 3 pieces and the hot dogs in 3 pieces. Simply wrap the bacon around the hot dogs and secure with a toothpick. Then I layer them in a crock pot, a layer of brown sugar and a layer of the hot dogs. I add additional brown sugar on top and cook on high for about 3 hours. You will need to carefully stir them as they cook. I usually add more sugar as the cook down and use a turkey baster to suck up the liquid that accumulates in the bottom of the crock pot, if not the hot dogs will swell up from absorbing the liquid. I find this to be the easiest and less messy way to make these. Everyone loves them!

Red Velvet Cake I
This is my third time commenting on this cake. Skip the shortening and add a stick of butter. Also two bottles of red food coloring is too much. You only need a couple tablespoons, 3 at most. Anyway, when I watched the video the cake batter did not look nice and fluffy and creamy like mine. Also, the icing is exactly what I use only I cook the milk and flour mixture until it's thicker that what the video showed. The icing in the video also didn't have that nice creamy texture that mine has. It looked grainy and unappealing. I beat the heck out of mine with a Kitchen-aid mixer. Beat it for maybe 10 minutes. It will be fluffy and creamy and tasty.
